WWE sometimes like to "trim the fat" so to speak and it looks like they're going to have a few empty slots on the RAW roster after today.
Emma and Darren Young have been released from their WWE contracts and although there might be more to come, we at least know Summer Rae has joined the list of people being wished the best on their future endeavours by WWE.
The writing might have been on the wall for Summer Rae because she was injured and never made it back on television being forced to take time off the road. But she's still been very active on social media at least.
She posted an Instagram update yesterday which proudly proclaims that people shouldn't be tripping over her past. She also included a pretty nice photo of herself and tagged her location as Barcelona, Spain which is a pretty good distance from where WWE would be sending her if she was still on the active roster.
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
We wish Summer Rae the best in her future endeavours just like WWE does, but out of all the people released in this string of clearing out some space on the roster, Summer's isn't the most surprising by a long-shot.
However, it is curious that WWE still couldn't find any way to utilize her for any number of the reasons she was hired in the first place.
Rumours are there might be more releases on the way today and in the very near future, so we'll keep you posted in case WWE decided to place anyone else on the chopping block. After all, Darren Young, Emma, and Summer Rae were all representatives of the RAW brand, therefore, some cuts could be coming to the Blue Team soon enough. But only time will tell because there are plenty of hungry workers in NXT who would love a chance to show what they can do in the bright lights of either of the WWE main roster brands.
