What's the story?
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are set to debut their new Bludgeon Brothers gimmick on next week's SmackDown LIVE after weeks of menacing vignettes aired promoting their arrival. Now, WWE.com has revealed who will be their first opponents.
In case you didn't know...
On this week's SmackDown LIVE go-home show for the Survivor Series pay-per-view, it was officially announced that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan would be debuting their Bludgeon Brothers gimmick after all.
There was some concern that it had been dropped altogether, like Emmalina, as the pair had been spotted during the European tour wearing their original attire leftover from their time in the Wyatt family.
The heart of the matter
The Hype Brothers have been battling to get themselves taken seriously on SmackDown LIVE after embarking on a prolonged losing streak, as you can see in the Twitter video on WWE.com Mojo Rawley clearly thinks that himself and Zack Ryder establishing themselves against the incoming team will help them get back on track.
What's next?
It is widely thought that the Bludgeon Brothers will be revealed as '2B' the team behind the attack on the Fashion Police who Fandango and Tyler Breeze have been trying to track down for weeks. I originally thought that Fandango and Breeze would be their first official opponents after the reveal, but it appears that if this is the way this story is going, that it's being drawn out a little longer.
Author's take
This is a good matchup for me as I've always liked Zack Ryder and want to see him succeed, Mojo Rawley not-so-much, but if he's with Zack I can tolerate him. As for Luke Harper and Eric Rowan, they're both incredible talents who have been poorly used by the WWE thus far, hopefully, the Bludgeon Brothers gimmick puts a stop to that.
