What's the story?
Former WWE Intercontinental Champion, The Miz recently spoke with Scott Fishman of TV Insider to discuss the upcoming season of The Challenge: Champs v. Stars on MTV, which premieres on November 21st.
In case you didn't know...
The Miz appeared in the tenth season of The Real World on MTV in 2001, and later appeared in multiple seasons of their spin-off shows.

Miz would go from one reality show in The Real World to another in WWE's Tough Enough in 2004, where he finished as the runner-up to Daniel Puder.
The heart of the matter
Fishman asked The Miz what it felt like to return to MTV, where his stardom began as a teenager, and if it felt like a high school reunion. Miz would respond with the following quote:
Definitely. I’m so thankful to MTV and everything they’ve done for me. I got to go on the Real World. I know for a fact if I didn’t make it on the Real World that I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. I’d probably be flipping burgers at my dad’s Mr. Hero. It kind of has been this whirlwind that when I got on the Real World, it made me realize I could do anything I wanted.
That thing that Miz wanted to do was be a WWE Superstar. Thought it was rough going for The Miz early on, he continued to work hard and earn the respect of not only the wrestlers in the locker room, but those in the WWE Universe as well.
The Miz is a full-blown heel in terms of his character, but he's done such a good job in the ring and on the mic in his career, the crowd will cheer him until he berates them like the heel that he is.
The upcoming MTV show will be the second in the series pitting past champs against celebrity athletes with 10 to each side. There will be a total of eight episodes and the winner takes him a $150k prize to donate to their favourite charity.
What's next?
After a losing effort to Baron Corbin at Survivor Series, Miz's misery continued as he lost to Roman Reigns and his Intercontinental title on this week's episode of RAW. It's unclear what the future holds for him, but rumours suggest that he may be off television for a few weeks as he is to beginning filming a movie.
Author's take
I think it's definitely a great idea for MTV to bring the Miz back to a reality competition where Miz's old show The Real World was basically the foundation for The Challenge. It definitely has to be a thrill for Miz to be the host.
