What’s the Story?
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeated Cesaro and Sheamus on Monday Night Raw for the Tag Team Championships and picked up some major momentum heading into TLC.
In Case You Didn’t Know...
Ambrose and Rollins began their feud with Cesaro and Sheamus back in August when The Bar teased Rollins for having no allies left in the WWE. This eventually led to Ambrose and Rollins reuniting on Raw and the two went on to win the Raw Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam.
Their rematch at the No Mercy pay-per-view was considered by many to be the match of the night despite Cesaro suffering a brutal injury to his mouth that required surgery to fix.
The Heart of the Matter
The match began with Ambrose and Sheamus squaring off but eventually, they divulged into an all-out brawl when Ambrose and Rollins drove Sheamus out of the ring and hit dual Springboard Crossbody Presses onto Sheamus and Cesaro. Rollins attempted a top rope manoeuvre on Sheamus, but the Celtic Warrior caught him and the former champions regained control.
Cesaro and Sheamus continued to dominate Rollins throughout the majority of the match, but Rollins sidestepped an attack from Sheamus and knocked Cesaro out of the ring long enough to make the tag to Ambrose later on.
After a flurry of offense from Ambrose to Cesaro, the Lunatic Fringe attempted to use the slingshot to throw Cesaro into the turnbuckle, reminiscent of his botch from No Mercy, but the Swiss Superman landed on the top rope and attempted a second rope uppercut only to be driven out of the ring and for Ambrose and Rollins to hit Cesaro and Sheamus with suicide dives.
The match came to an end when Rollins hit a superkick on Sheamus and Ambrose followed it up with his signature clothesline which also led to Rollins hitting the King’s Landing on Cesaro and Ambrose hitting Dirty Deeds for the victory.
What’s Next?
The next match scheduled between The Shield and Cesaro and Sheamus will be at TLC pay-per-view this Sunday when the Hounds of Justice take on The Miz, Braun Strowman, Cesaro and Sheamus in a handicap TLC match.
With The Shield’s latest victory against Cesaro and Sheamus, they are currently 3-0 against the Bar and may extend that number to 4-0 following their TLC match.
