What's the story?
There have been a lot of changes made to The Royal Rumble pay-per-view over the past few days, which interestingly included the Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. The fact that Finn Balor has been added to this match means that he is no longer part of The Royal Rumble, neither are Sasha Banks or Kalisto.
In case you didn't know...
Braun Strowman was removed from his previously advertised Royal Rumble match on Raw by Chairman Vince McMahon when The Monster Among Men destroyed his limousine whilst chasing Baron Corbin. Balor later came out on top in a fatal four-way which also featured Drew McIntyre, Corbin, and John Cena so that he could punch his ticket to a Championship match at Chase Field.
Sasha Banks faces Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Championship on January 27th, whilst Kalisto was recently named as a participant in the fatal four-way match for the Cruiserweight Championship despite the fact that he had already been announced for The Rumble.
The heart of the matter
WWE has officially removed Finn Balor and Kalisto from the men's Royal Rumble matches whilst Sasha Banks has also been taken out of the Women's Royal Rumble match despite being the ironwoman of the event last year.
Banks entered the fray at number one and lasted over an hour before she was eliminated, but it appears that The Boss will be given just one chance to become Champion at The Rumble since she won't be given a shot in the Women's Royal Rumble match.
What's next?
The Royal Rumble takes place on Sunday, January 27th live from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and will see 30 men and 30 women battle it out for the chance to challenge for a Championship of their choice at WrestleMania.
