What's the story?
Former MMA fighter and current NXT Superstar, Matt Riddle has put out his name to be the one to face Kurt Angle in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35.
Riddle went on to state that Kurt Angle vs Matt Riddle is what the fans want to see at the show of shows.
In case you didn't know...
This past week on Monday Night Raw, the former Olympic gold medallist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle announced that he will be competing in his final match at WrestleMania 35.
Angle went on to have a quick showdown with Apollo and it didn't take long for the WWE Universe to kick-start the speculation mill. Several names were thrown around on social media, including The Undertaker and John Cena.
The heart of the matter
Matt Riddle has been making waves on NXT, ever since he made his debut down in developmental. Riddle is a legit MMA fighter with an impressive record. He is well-known for his light-hearted tweets, despite being a legit badass inside the squared circle.
Riddle replied to Angle's tweet which asked who the latter's final opponent should be:
Angle has yet to respond to Riddle's tweet, but one thing's for sure: a match between these two incredible athletes in their prime would have been a sight to behold.
What's next?
Fans have been clamoring for a John Cena vs Kurt Angle match at MetLife Stadium, and the match makes complete sense.
Angle was the one who gave John Cena his first match ever in WWE. It would be poetic and fitting that Cena gives Angle his last match in the company, with the rivalry coming full circle for both of these Superstars.
As for Riddle, although there's a bunch of fans out there who would love to see this match at the show of shows, it seems like a pipe dream at this point, especially with Angle himself wanting to face Cena in his final match.
