What's the story?

Ronda Rousey's arrival in WWE set many media outlets ablaze. The attention from mainstream publications was staggering, and some ladies from WWE felt a little left out

Nia Jax voiced her displeasure through her Twitter account. As did Nikki Bella from the account shared by both Bella Twins.

In case you didn't know...

Ronda Rousey is perhaps the most popular female MMA fighter of all time. Many feel that WWE's women's revolution was inspired by her undefeated streak in the Octagon, where she paved the way for many young women to follow their dreams and destiny.

WWE hosted the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match this weekend, and many stars, past and present, were part of it. However, it was the arrival of Ronda Rousey to WWE that was the buzz through the weekend, and beyond for most of the press.

The heart of the matter

The women of WWE possibly felt that the attention that a woman, who was not even in the Women's Royal Rumble to begin with, got for a mere appearance, was unjustified. They felt short-changed that even though they put on a historic match, it was an outsider who got all the accolades.

Therefore, they aired their grievances on social media, for all the world to see. Whether or not it was justified, is for you to decide (please let us know in the comments below).

What's next?

It is not known how the Ronda Rousey situation will develop. WWE may just let it simmer for a bit, while the media speculates. The rumour mills suggest that she may be in a Mixed Tag match, come WrestleMania 34.

Author's take

Unless they're working an angle, I think the girls need to understand that Rousey can bring more eyeballs to their own product. If they're working an angle, best of luck to both of them.

Let's hope Rousey can do for Women's Wrestling what Mike Tyson did for the men, in the 90s.
