WWE News: Twitter war breaks out between two female superstars over comments of former Women's Champion

In a major upset, Alicia Fox got the better of Sasha Banks on RAW

What’s the story?

There are some rumblings in the WWE women’s division after Melina tweeted about Sasha’s match with Alicia Fox on Monday Night Raw. Lana and Banks soon got involved in the exchange, and the war of words turned nasty on social media.

In case you didn’t know...

In a major upset, Alicia Fox beat Sasha Banks clean this past week on Raw. With Noam Dar at ringside, Fox brought the fight to the Boss and claimed the victory with a Scissor Kick. The WWE Universe was shocked by the result as Noam Dar hoisted Fox over his shoulders for a grand celebration.

The heart of the matter

Melina responded to the match saying that she was not too worried about Sasha’s loss. She pointed out that the upset served as an important factor for dRawing her into the storyline. Things took a turn for the worse when Lana liked the tweet and fans mistook it for a jab to Sasha Banks.

Lana quickly proceeded to clarify that she was referring to the match garnering more views. She also praised Sasha for being a game changer in the WWE.

Sasha seemed to have been offended by Lana’s actions. She did not respond directly but posted a tweet that seemed to be directed at Lana. She pointed out that her abilities in the ring spoke for her and she was above tearing down others on social media.

What’s next?

The rivalry between Sasha and Alicia is far from over. Sasha Banks will be stung by Alicia’s win over her, and The Boss will be looking for an opportunity to get one over the former Divas Champion. There could be some fireworks if the two superstar cross paths once again on Raw next week.

Author's take

Twitter has often been used by WWE Superstars to settle differences outside the ring. This particular exchange, however, will not manifest itself into a match as Sasha and Lana are in different brands. The story between Sasha and Alicia Fox is a different one altogether. In a show of one-upmanship, Alicia picked up the win after Sasha beat her the week before. This 50-50 booking has attracted views to the feud, and it will be interesting to witness how WWE work this rivalry on the road to Extreme Rules.
