What's the story?

Thursday saw one of the most fearsome WWE tag teams, reunite for one night.

According to reports by Wrestling Inc, The Undertaker and Kane reunited to put on a fundraiser on behalf of Kane's mayoral campaign. The event took place at the Rothchild Catering & Conference Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, where it was billed, as the first time The Brothers of Destruction have appeared together outside a WWE ring.

In case you didn't know...

Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, is running for the office of the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. The Undertaker is only the latest of a long line of WWE wrestlers to extend their support to 'The Demon'. Daniel Bryan, Luke Gallows, Matt Hardy, Arn Anderson, Tom Pritchard, and Ricky Morton are but a few of the stars who have publicly supported Kane's latest mayoral campaign.

Kane had a run in WWE late in 2017, when he took part in Survivor Series alongside The Miz, Braun Strowman and The Bar, to take out Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Kurt Angle. He turned on Strowman during the bout, and the two then went on to have a feud. At the Royal Rumble, both men were unsuccessful in their attempt to win the Universal Title from Champion Brock Lesnar in their Triple Threat Match.

The heart of the matter

The Brothers of Destruction were a fearsome tag team, coming together a number of times, to challenge for the Tag Team Titles and take on other wrestlers.

The two reunited on Thursday, but it was for Kane's mayoral campaign. For $50 to $150, fans were allowed photos and autographs with the two 'brothers'. The event sold out, and photos of the lucky fans have since surfaced online.

What's next?

The Undertaker may or may not be a part of this year's Wrestlemania, with rumours refusing to die down.

The Knox County primary is set for May 1, 2018, with Election Day on Aug. 2, 2018, so don’t expect to see Kane back in a WWE ring anytime soon.

Author's take

No matter what the reason, it is always amazing to see The Undertaker and Kane together. With both the stars nearing their retirements, it can only be guessed how many more times such an opportunity will arise.
