SummerSlam left numerous questions on the minds of both fans in attendance and the fans watching it on their television regarding how much it’s ending was actually planned when the event packed up after a vicious assault by Brock Lesnar on Randy Orton.
While many expected Lesnar to dominate the match only a few thought that they will get to see the bloody mess he left in his wake after busting Randy open with his ground and pound elbows.
Due to the savage ending of the match and the rumors of backstage heat over Lesnar following the mega event, many people assumed that the ending of SummerSlam was not scripted.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Although now a new photo of Randy posted by Ellis Mbeh aka the shocked Undertaker guy after the cameras stopped rolling at the biggest event of the Summer is suggesting otherwise.
As seen in the below photo Randy Orton is seen standing on the corner of the stage of SummerSlam after suffering the vicious Beatdown from The Beast and he is seen smiling.
As cagesideseats.com noted, the look on Randy's face suggests that the whole thing was scripted and the fact that he was able to laugh it off says that the Beatdown was not something the Viper did not expect.
We reported before that Randy Orton needed 10 staples to close the wound suffered during the match which created a pool of blood in the ring. It's notable here that this is not the first time Brock Lesnar has been accused of going off script and changing the ending of the match.
During a recent interview, Paul Heyman suggested that the infamous ending of Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania Streak with the hands of Lesnar was actually a shoot and the original plans for the match were different.
We should also note here that Chris Jericho reportedly got involved in a fight with Brock Lesnar backstage following the Orton-Lesnar match. It was said that Jericho was concerned about the health of the former 12-time world champion and asked a WWE producer if the way the match ended was scripted.
On not receiving a proper reply Jericho decided to confront the beast himself, which resulted in a heated verbal exchange between the two. The situation got so tense that Vince McMaon himself had to break it up and he told Jericho that everything was a part of the script.
While we will never know what really occurred and it's hard to judge whether it was scripted or not by seeing the incident, one thing which is sure is that the whole beatdown angle will go down in history as one of the most barbaric things ever seen on WWE TV.
