What's the story?
Mike Johnson of PWInsider provided an update on the injury status of The Undisputed ERA's Bobby Fish on Friday morning. He was injured at the NXT Live event in Indianapolis, Indiana this past Sunday evening.
In case you didn't know...
Bobby Fish made his mark in professional wrestling with Ring Of Honor with his current Undisputed ERA teammate Kyle O'Reilly. The tag team was known as reDRagon, and they won the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships a total of three times.

Fish also won singles gold in his final year with the company capturing the Ring Of Honor World Television Championship.
The heart of the matter
THE FOLLOWING WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THIS WEEK'S NXT TAPINGS
According to Johnson, Fish underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama for a torn ACL. The estimate for Fish to be out of action is currently five to six months; which obviously takes him out of the picture for NXT Takeover: New Orleans.
Johnson also mentioned there has been discussions back and forth internally within NXT Management as to whether or not they will strip the NXT Tag Team Championships from The Undisputed ERA.
Obviously things can be altered via taped segments, but based on the events of the last set of NXT tapings before Takeover, Adam Cole may pull double duty in New Orleans.
He is scheduled to be a part of the 6-man ladder match for the new NXT North American Championship with EC3, Velveteen Dream, Lars Sullivan, Ricochet, and Killian Dain.
The finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic saw the newly formed team of Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne taking on the Authors of Pain, but Cole and Kyle O'Reilly interfered to make it a no contest.
It appears that GM William Regal will force Cole and O'Reilly to defend against both teams at Takeover, but also the winning team will get their name on the Dusty Cup.
What's next?
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continues on NXT this Wednesday with two matchups. The Street Profits will take on Heavy Machinery; while SAnitY faces Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss. Adam Cole also takes on Pete Dunne for the WWE United Kingdom Championship.
Author's take...
This is very unfortunate for Fish because The Undisputed ERA is on top of the NXT world right now. I wish for Fish to have a speedy recovery and can hopefully rejoin his brothers in the Undisputed ERA as soon as possible.
At this point, I feel like the obvious choice is for Cole and O'Reilly to drop the titles at NXT Takeover: New Orleans, but I'm predicting exactly the opposite.
It'll also be interesting to see if they add someone to the group as an insurance policy for the next few months. A man who debuted at the latest NXT tapings, Chris Dijak would be perfect considering he comes from Ring Of Honor too.
