What's the story?
So, the story broke not long ago that Ronda Rousey may want to leave WWE after WrestleMania 35 to start a family with her husband, Travis Browne. Rousey would neither confirm nor deny these rumours.
Vince McMahon did not seem too bothered by Rousey's departure. In his words, as long as he knows the dates for which she will/will not be available, WWE can plan around the same.
In case you didn't know...
Ronda Rousey made her official WWE debut shortly after the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble. In no time at all, she has become the focal point of the entire division.
However, Rousey may be planning to make an exit shortly after WrestleMania, according to rumours. If so, there could be problems in the coming year, as FOX wanted Rousey on SmackDown Live.
Vince McMahon had high praise for Ronda Rousey during the course of the Q&A session.
The heart of the matter
So Vince McMahon was asked b about Ronda Rousey's departure by a caller in WWE's fourth quarter conference call. I thank Wrestling Inc. for the following quotes:
Bringing Ronda in gave us more visibility in terms of the initiative of reaching more women. And when you do something like that it allows you to not just use Ronda's platform from a different niche to come into WWE, Ronda in of herself becomes a brand of WWE. It's a different Ronda than what you saw before, in terms of UFC and things of that nature.
And then he also addressed the question of her departure. According to him, if he knew her dates in advance, plans could be made around the same:
She knows how to do it, she's one of the brightest people we've ever done business with. And the fact that she's adapted to the WWE culture so fast, it really is truly an amazing salute to her as an athlete, and as a human being. So, the Rondas will come in and out, and when they do, as long as we know what those dates are, we plan around it.
What's next?
Ronda Rousey's future remains uncertain after WrestleMania 35. Let's hope that she sticks around for a little longer. WWE may lack star power without her.
