The Miz received a Curb-Stomp from Seth Rollins after Raw went off air

What’s the story?

Following the ending of WWE's Raw’s 25th Anniversary special episode, new Intercontinental Champion The Miz made his return to the Manhattan Center in New York and cut a promo on D-Generation X and The Balor Club, who were busy celebrating their win over The Revival.

In case you didn’t know…

This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw marked the 25th Anniversary of the red brand and was also the go-home show for the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Several WWE veterans, legends, and Hall of Famers made their presence felt in both the Manhattan Center and the Barclays Center.

The WWE Universe in the Barclays Center was also treated to an action-filled evening as the likes of Roman Reigns, The Miz, Asuka, and Nia Jax were all in action. Meanwhile, the Manhattan Center got the chance to witness the return of The Undertaker, Scott Hall and the reunion of D-Generation X as well.

The heart of the matter

After the cameras stopped filming at the Manhattan Center, new WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz returned to the arena and decided to rudely interrupt and cut a promo on DX and The Balor Club. In his promo, Miz bragged about the fact that he is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion as he stated that nobody in the ring is a champion and highlighted the fact that they are all either former Intercontinental Champions or have never won the belt at all.

The audience present at the Manhattan Center also started to chant The Miz’s name but The A-Lister told the WWE Universe not to pander to him as he labelled himself as the “Greatest of All Time”. Additionally, Miz also warned the DX members and Scott Hall to leave ‘his’ ring and claimed that Raw’s 30th Anniversary show is going to be all about him and nobody else.

However, as The Miz continued, Raw Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins came out and said that it’s been awhile since he stepped foot into the Manhattan Center as the WWE Universe greeted The Architect with “ROH” chants. Furthermore, Rollins also name-dropped his former wrestling promotion and WWE’s rivals Ring of Honor as he recalled his ROH World Title win from 2010. Rollins would eventually go on and hit the Curb Stomp on The Miz as he and DX then proceeded to do the “Suck it” gesture. Lastly, Triple H ended the show and thanked all the fans for making it a so special.

What’s next?

The WWE superstars will now turn their attention towards the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view which takes place this Sunday in Philadelphia. Both Rollins and The Miz will be in action as Rollins gets all set to defend the Raw Tag Team Titles along with his partner Jason Jordan against the duo of Cesaro and Sheamus.

Meanwhile, The Miz has also confirmed that he will be taking part in the 30 man Royal Rumble match.

Author’s Take

In my opinion, Raw’s 25th Anniversary show definitely lacked the ‘X-Factor’ and could have been a lot better, but, it was certainly a great experience to witness the return of so many legends of this business.
