What's the story?
Seth Rollins has been one of the most valuable performers in WWE during his career and even more so over the last two years.
Rollins has always had huge support backstage from creative and WWE officials, but RingsideNews.com is reporting via WrestleVotes that the man behind Rollins' current push is his sometimes foe and sometimes enemy Triple H.
In case you didn't know...
Once Roman Reigns departed Raw to deal with his illness, it left a void atop the heap of Raw babyfaces. While Rollins was already one of the top faces in the company, Dean Ambrose's attack on Rollins later in the same night practically solidified Rollins spot as the top face of the red brand.
He had constantly pointed out failings of the brand, including insulting Baron Corbin's reign as interim-GM and Brock Lesnar's position as a part-time champion.
Since so much of the WWE Universe was thinking was Rollins was saying, it helped propel his status as the top face of Raw even further.
The heart of the matter
Before he even won the Royal Rumble match, Triple H seemed to be on a mission to reignite the fire in Rollins. Rollins still was a face but had an edge when he challenged Ambrose again for the Intercontinental Championship and engaged in a feud with Bobby Lashley.
RingsideNews.com revealed via WrestleVotes that the opening of Raw last night was extremely believable because the emotion from Rollins was genuine.
It also reported that the reason for the interactions between Rollins and Triple H seeming so real is because Triple H is the man behind Rollins recent push.
“Catching up on RAW as we were in the air last night, but the emotion in the opening segment between Rollins & Triple H was real. This renewed Rollins push, and the decision for him to main event Mania was very much Hunters call. The Game is going “all in” w/ Rollins.”
Rollins teared up as he said it was always a dream of his to main-event WrestleMania. He even seemed that he didn't believe he had won the Royal Rumble on Sunday as he looked shocked after winning.
After Triple H came to the ring, even he started to tear up a bit as he remarked how this is the Rollins he wanted to see again when he started to light a fire under the Architect. It certainly seemed like a mentor being prideful in his apprentice.
The emotional moment seemed real between the two men and Triple H has always been one of Rollins' biggest fans.
What's next?
While it isn't exactly a secret that Triple H is a huge fan of Rollins, it was a nice moment in the ring to see both men interact like humans with each other rather than as characters.
Sometimes a little bit of real emotion and reality can make a moment seem like so much more than a few scripted words.
Triple H has always been behind Rollins, from handpicking him as the first NXT Champion to picking him as a member of the Authority a few years ago.
He even had a feud with Rollins that led to a WrestleMania match. Triple H often works with the younger talent that he is behind, and Rollins is the epitome of that. Hopefully, the push leads to a win for Rollins against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35.
