What's the story?
What have we been doing without 'Woken' Matt Hardy in our lives? He's only been on WWE television for just over a week and already he's one of the best things in sports entertainment again.
Whilst his first feud looks to be the 'Consumer of Terrestrial Entities' Bray Wyatt, Hardy has wasted no time in calling out the souls of some of RAW's other top Superstars.
In case you didn't know...
'Woken' Matt Hardy is finally in the WWE. You probably already know this, but just in case you've managed to miss it, here's how it went down. Matt Hardy lost a match against Bray Wyatt, falling to a Sister Abigail.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
After the match, Hardy had a breakdown in the ring and started throwing out 'delete' hand gestures. On this week's RAW Hardy and Wyatt exchanged pre-recorded promos, confirming the 'Woken' gimmick in the WWE.
The heart of the matter
Even though it looks like Hardy is going to attempt to delete Bray Wyatt, the mentally unstable Superstar has wasted no time in sizing up some future targets for 100% deletion, commenting on the souls of both Finn Balor and Jason Jordan
What's next?
I'm already incredibly entertained. Honestly, with this storyline, the possibilities are endless. Hardy could succeed and turn Bray Wyatt into Brother Bray, Hardy could fail and get even more broken, Senor Benjamin could turn up, or Vanguard 1. Literally, anything could happen.
And then after that, it looks like Jason Jordan or Finn Balor could be next for what is sure to be a highly enjoyable feud with 'Woken' Matt Hardy. And eventually 'Brother Nero' will return and all will be right with the world.
Author's take
I was concerned that the WWE wouldn't fully commit to the idea of a 'Broken' Matt Hardy gimmick in today's fairly rigid PG era, a kayfabe-less era where everyone has normal names, but it looks like they are, which is amazing. I mean, who doesn't enjoy the hell out of this?
