What's the story?
The wrestling world received a huge positive news on Tuesday afternoon when they announced that SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan was medically cleared to compete in a WWE ring two years after his retirement.
On Thursday afternoon WWE.com posted a story that revealed their five dream matches for Bryan now that he is able to once again wrestle. During the two-year absence from in-ring competition, there have been some new names that everyone would like to see compete with Bryan in the ring.
In case you didn't know...
Bryan wrestled his last match in the WWE on 14 April 2015 during a SmackDown taping. He would team up with his future brother-in-law, John Cena, to take on Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.

The heart of the matter
The five men that the WWE would love to see in the squared circle are as follows: Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Brock Lesnar. Bryan has never faced Balor, Angle, or Lesnar in any promotion throughout his career.
In New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Bryan has faced Shinsuke Nakamura three times in 2004; however, they were all tag team matches, never have they faced one-on-one.
Of these five men, Bryan has faced AJ Styles the most with a total of six times between 2002 and 2006. Overall Bryan has a 2-4 record in his career against The Phenomenal One.
All signs point to the official in-ring return of Bryan at WrestleMania 34 as part of a tag team with SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon to face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
What's next?
There are many ways they can go with the Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon storyline after the brutal attack this week by Owens and Zayn.
They could both return next week and reinstate Owens and Zayn on one condition, that they face Bryan and McMahon in a fight at WrestleMania.
Another option could be that Vince McMahon comes out next week to announce the match with Bryan and Shane either taking the week off or appearing to take the week off and delivering a surprise attack of their own.
Author's take
Dream matches involving Daniel Bryan came to the minds of many within the WWE Universe and the WWE Superstars themselves. I would have to agree with all of those listed except maybe Brock Lesnar.
Though they haven't had a match before, it doesn't rank up there a dream match compared to Nakamura, Angle, Styles, and Balor. I would personally go to NXT and add in Adam Cole and Aleister Black because he has never faced either of those men anywhere.
