WWE News: WWE opposes controversial bill passed in North Carolina

Vince standing up against injustice?

WWE has done a lot of controversial things back in the days of the Attitude Era. That all changed once WWE went to a PG rating to please younger audiences and make the product suitable for all ages. WWE has since then put a lot of effort in maintaining the image of the company. That is exactly what they did in North Carolina during the recent episode of RAW.

WWE opposed a controversial bill passed by the state of North Carolina which discriminated transgenders. The House Bill 2 or better known as the Bathroom Bill was passed by the state government after Governor Pat McCrory signed it on the same date that it was floated in the the parliament. The bill controls the bathroom usage and only allows people to use the bathroom according to their biological birth gender.

This bill has also revoked any anti-discrimination bills and laws that were passed by cities in North Carolina such as Charlotte. The bill was allegedly rushed to curb straight men from wearing dresses to enter women’s bathrooms. The bill definitely takes away a part of the freedom of the people. The WWE released an audio recording in the support of revoking the bill during RAW.
