What’s the story?
Per PWInsider, the WWE plans to have a retro set for RAW’s 25th-anniversary episode later this month.
Apparently, as the episode will air from two different venues, the WWE will ensure that the set of the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom will be as close as possible to that of the first RAW episode in 1993.
In case you didn’t know…
While the WWE has been a functional professional wrestling promotion since the 1950s, it wasn’t until January 11th, 1993 that the very first episode of RAW came to fruition.
The original home of RAW was the aforementioned Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom in New York City, New York.
The heart of the matter
One ought to note that while the venue has undergone considerable changes since then, the WWE will now look to replicate the first RAW episode's set to whatever extent it is technically possible, for the special 25th-anniversary episode of RAW.
The milestone episode of RAW will air from two venues, namely the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom & the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on January 22nd.
Furthermore, fans ought to note that the Manhattan Center released a large number of tickets priced at $425 over the weekend for the special RAW show.
What’s next?
Several past Superstars, including big names such as The Undertaker, Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and many more are set to appear on the 25th-anniversary episode of Monday Night RAW.
Fans can expect an old-school set for RAW at the Manhattan Center for the special edition.
