WWE News: WWE pursuing top Olympic athlete for career in sports entertainment

Will Adeline Gray sign for WWE?

According to squaredcirclesirens.com WWE is currently scouting Olympic wrestler Adeline Gray who is currently competing in the Rio Olympics. Despite failing to land most of the Olympic wrestlers like Dennis Hall, Garrett Lowney and Adam Wheeler, the WWE is in pursuit of another Olympic athlete. The only gold medalist to compete for WWE was none other than Kurt Angle.

Now many wonders whether it is required for the company to make a move for Gray and add her to the WWE roster. Since the brand split WWE has been making constant efforts to boost the shows, and with Olympic one of the most watched television event in the world, the company believes Gray’s addition would certainly benefit the company.

The 25-year old Wrestler Gray currently has a 37-match winning streak and is a three-time world champion. Gray is a wrestler to beat in Rio and finished third in the World on two other occasions. If Gray grabs a championship in Rio ,She would be the first American women to win the gold medal in the Olympic Women’s Wrestling event.

There’s no indication that Grey is or isn’t interested in signing with the WWE as her focus is clearly on Rio and trying to secure a gold medal for the country The company has sent Gerald Briscoe to watch the Wrestler closely and scout her.

The WWE have already made a lot of efforts to enhance the reputation of female division that includes the young and talented women like Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch. By seeing how these female superstars are successful within the company, it’s very difficult for Grey to ignore the offer if it is placed before her.

To put her recent success into perspective, Adeline Grey won her final match at the U.S. Olympic Trials in April in one minute and five seconds. The average match during that event was six minutes. With all these achievements under her belt, the Colorado native is set to compete on Thursday in the 75kg weight class of women’s freestyle wrestling.

Will we see another Olympian in the WWE soon - the first female Olympic wrestler? Could Adeline Gray be the next Kurt Angle? Well, that all depends if WWE wants to sign her and actually convince her to switch over to professional wrestling from the amateur form.

Adeline Gray is competing at Rio 2016.
