What’s the story?
Zack Ryder and Cody Rhodes apparently got into an argument over the latter accusing Ryder of tweeting out a photograph.
Apparently, Cody mistakenly accused Ryder of posting the said photo on social media, while CM Punk was the one who’d actually sent out the Tweet. Below is Cody’s account of the same—
In case you didn’t know…
About 6 years ago a group of WWE titleholders were snapped in a group photograph. The aforementioned titlists were Beth Phoenix (Divas Champion), CM Punk (WWE Champion), Daniel Bryan (World Heavyweight Champion), Cody Rhodes (Intercontinental Champion), Zack Ryder (United States Champion), and Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne (Tag Team Champions).
Per Cody, when the picture was taken, CM Punk had stated that “this is not for Twitter…just for us”.
The heart of the matter
Cody initially took to social media, throwing shade at Zack Ryder; accusing the latter of posting a photograph that was meant to be just for the Champions; and not to be published online.
Cody asserted that 2 seconds after the picture was taken, Ryder posted it on Twitter; whereas as a matter of fact, it was CM Punk who posted the photograph online.
Furthermore, Cody posted yet another Tweet, confessing that his story is indeed inaccurate while insinuating that he received an angry message from Ryder, with the latter telling Cody to apologize and to “f*** off”.
What’s next?
Cody presently competes prominently in ROH and will look to regain the ROH Championship that he lost to Dalton Castle.
Meanwhile, Zack Ryder competes on the WWE’s SmackDown brand and is involved in a feud with Mojo Rawley.
Author’s take
Cody does not come off well here...at all.
As of this time, we’re yet to fully hear Zack Ryder’s side of the story, and it’s only Cody’s version which has the former cussing out Cody.
Irrespective of whether or not Ryder may have cussed out Cody, the latter could’ve most definitely issued an apology to Ryder on Twitter much like he used the very same social media application to accuse the former Hype, Bro.
