A new Paul Heyman guy was on the cards even before the PPV started and this became pretty obvious after Heyman started screaming that he believed in Axel during the match. But the surprise came in the form of Ryback, who sent Punk through the table with a spinebuster. Ryback then carried Heyman backstage as the crowd was busy chanting ‘Goldberg’.

The question that remains is whether Ryback is Heyman’s newest client or is Ryback just a stop gap filler until Brock Lesnar makes his return? Anyway, the good thing is we won’t have Axel fighting alongside Heyman anymore. Though Axel was impressive against Punk, his Intercontinental title was slowly losing meaning during the bout. WWE made the right decision by taking him out of this feud and putting Ryback in, who is undergoing a major character reconstruction.
