WWE Night of Champions 2015- 5 biggest winners

Champion in Peril

Cena showcased why he’s the face that runs this place. This was a really good PPV and there are no two ways about it. Every match on the card may not have been equally hyped but the performances what transpired throughout those matches was some great storytelling. There are so many things to look forward to come Monday. And The New Day are the best 3 man stable since the Shield but they might finally get some awesome competition from The Cosmic Wasteland if they are built as well as they look and act. This was truly a night of champions being born and an ode to many a legacies. Here are the 5 biggest winners-

#5 Seth Rollins

Champion in Peril

This guy is an incredible wrestler. No doubt about that. If that wasn’t clear to anyone yet, it should be clear now. He has 2 back to back matches. With Cena, he had a tremendous match that had him use his speed, agility and strength to be a part of another great match this year. Against Sting, he sold like a freaking champion. There was no other way this match could be as convincing and hard hitting.

He was still standing after his victory to face Sheamus. And just then Kane returned with his mask on and you just had to be entertained by how many enemies Rollins has.

#4 Nikki Bella

Bella’s reign ended with a great match

Nikki Bella came out to the ring as the longest reigning, defending Divas Champion and she drew quite the heat- something that she has mostly been able to do well whenever there is enough content given to her to act as a heel. She dominated most of the match working Charlotte’s injured knee. It was awesome because that meant Charlotte will have difficulty attempting the Figure 8.

This was a great match to end one of the better Diva title reigns in the past few years.

#3 Charlotte

That crowning moment

Charlotte’s crowning moment came in one of the best matches of the night. She sold her knee injury so, so well. You knew it was kayfabe after Bella went on attacking it relentlessly but it still made you loathe the heel and cheer for the challenger.

There was good psychology and this match certainly had the heel and face dynamic being played out pretty well, which hasn’t been a consistent case with the division in a long time.

Don’t know if WWE is still going for the trio vs trio vs trio but this championship match was tremendous and focusing on singles competition predominantly is the better way to go.

Also, please consider Paige’s call for a Money In the bank ladder match for the opportunity to cash in for the Divas title, given the plethora of talent already available.

#2 Kevin Owens

Owens is the new Intercontinental Champion

Kevin Owens came out to the ring to the delight of the audience and the babyface who also happened to be the champion, Ryback, received a chorus of boos. That is enough to showcase how poor the reign has been and it’s not The Big Guy’s fault exactly.

But Owens involvement just makes hope flutter that this title will gain back some importance. Owens makes any match he is a part of seems like something important and combine that with his incredible mic skills, you have a character to care about. He is now the Intercontinental Champion and that ought to be great for the title because WWE’s got just the right man to bring relevance to this title.

#1 John Cena

The US Title is back to where it belongs.

Let’s just say that on this night everyone wanted Cena to win the U.S Championship. This is how you become a champion- making the championship mean something. Cena, hopefully, will continue the best consistent thing in pro- wrestling this year with the Open Challenges for the US Title.

Cena was incredible. He was pulling off counters and a hurricanrana with ease. And this is why you have to believe that Cena does indeed bring a big match feel to such matches where they are given the opportunity to fight and tell a story effectively.
