#1 Best: Johnny Wrestling is back on NXT 2.0
NXT 2.0 opened with Carmelo Hayes, a week removed from his shocking North American Title win. He was interrupted by Johnny Gargano, who is a babyface once again. It seems like we are headed towards a feud between the two, with Trick Williams and Dexter Lumis also involved.
This is Gargano's first in-ring storyline as a good guy in close to two years, which is refreshing. With everybody in his "family" going their separate ways, it is time for Johnny Wrestling to shine once again.
The impending NXT North American Championship match between Hayes and Gargano will be excellent, but the two could have an entertaining feud too. With Halloween Havoc being next week, what will Lumis be up to?
#1 Worst: But can they co-exist?!
One of WWE's worst booking tropes is when two rivals team up with each other with the plot being whether they can co-exist. This played out between Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks on multiple occasions in 2021, as well as Big E and Drew McIntyre recently on RAW.
Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker have now fallen into the same lazy hole on NXT 2.0, as they defeated The Grizzled Young Veterans without completely getting along.
While both stars did well during the match, this was simply a repeat of a tired angle. One that has been completely overused. Nobody wants to see two rivals try to co-exist before they face each other, especially at the detriment of a strong unit like GYV, who should be NXT Tag Team Champions.
