Arguably the pinnacle of the NXT UK brand

The NXT UK brand has exponentially progressed since it's inception. In 2016 WWE brought the UK Championship tournament to Blackpool, and a new champion was born, his name was, Tyler Bate.

Since then there have been only two more champions, Pete Dunne, and the new champion, Walter. Following Walter's victory at NXT Takeover: New York 2019, Dunne's extensive championship ended.

The plethora of talent on the NXT UK brand is astonishing. With names like; Rhea Ripley, Pete Dunne, Joe Coffey, and Jordan Devlin, it is hard to argue the level of entertainment on offer.

Nevertheless, the brand could always be improved. However, by who? Which UK wrestlers have yet shined on the WWE stage? Let's explore them now.

Davey Boy Smith Jr is the son of legendary WWE wrestler, British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith. Between 2006-2011 Smith worked for WWE and was successful in the Tag Team division alongside Tyson Kidd.

Since 2012 he has earned a plethora of singles and tag team championships. Arguably he has reached heights equal to his father.

Alongside his tag team partner, Lance Archer, he is a former three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion in NJPW. Moreover, he's also a former two-time GHC Tag Team Champion. Together Smith and Archer are known as Killer Elite and have worked excellently as a team. They are reminiscent of the late British Bulldogs.

Since 2018, Smith has been working in Major League Wrestling, as a member of the New Hart Foundation, also including; Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jr. Presently they are the tag team champions.

Considering his connections with WWE, he has great potential to return. Moreover, imagine the matches he could have with names like; Pete Dunne, Walter, or Ligero. What can we expect?

#2 Nick Aldis

In professional wrestling, there are very few who can claim high-level of success without having worked for WWE. For years it was accepted that WWE was the place to go for the greatest of success.

However, names like; Sting and Kenny Omega would prove everyone wrong. Agreed these names worked for WWE, it should be noted for a limited period, in comparison to their extensive careers.

Nick Aldis is a wrestler who fits the mold set out by Sting and Omega. He has yet worked for WWE. Strangely enough, Aldis is married to current WWE wrestler, Mickie James, but has yet debuted for WWE. Instead, he has chosen to work on the independent circuit, where he is the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

What makes Aldis successful is his character portrayal and extensive ring credentials. During his time in TNA (now Impact Wrestling) Aldis was successful in tag team and singles wrestling.

Whereas, working with the NWA he has had excellent matches with Cody Rhodes. Regardless of his position at present, he certainly could benefit from joining WWE. Moreover, he would help improve the NXT UK brand.

The Bullet Club has generated mass intrigue since its inception. Moreover, it has helped create a plethora of successful careers. Notably names like; AJ Styles, Adam Cole, Cody Rhodes, Finn Balor, and Kenny Omega.

However, another former member can claim success since leaving the group, his name is, Marty Scurll. Presently signed with ROH, Marty Scurll leads a group called Villain Enterprises, also including; PCO and Brody King.

Throughout his career, Scurll has garnered huge success. In NJPW he earned a plethora of championships, including; IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Six Man Tag Team Championship. Whereas, in ROH Scurll is a former ROH Television Champion.

Presently Scurll is one-third of the ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions, alongside his stablemates. At the ROH G1 Supercard, Scurll battled Jay Lethal and Matt Taven for the ROH World Championship but was narrowly defeated.

The reason Scurll would be lucrative within WWE is simple. Firstly, his excellent character portrayal fits the WWE mold. Secondly, he has high-quality ring credentials. Thirdly, his extensive experience across multiple promotions affords a plethora of useful knowledge.

Finally, perhaps the best point is Scurll's connection with almost all NXT UK roster members. He has worked with nearly everyone during his time with British wrestling promotions like; Revolution Pro Wrestling and Progress Wrestling. Will WWE sign this excellent performer?
