WrestleMania was a fantastic show for many superstars who were able to pick up gold for the first time, including Tony Nese who defeated Buddy Murphy on the kickoff show to become the new Cruiserweight Champion.
Murphy was obviously still smarting from his title loss and so decided to take the fight to North American Champion Velveteen Dream, who was able to retain his title when he took on Matt Riddle in an all-out brawl on Friday night that he only just managed to win.
Murphy once again came up short in his quest to put gold back around his waist, but it was a fantastic match between two athletes and it could have gone either way throughout. It is unknown if this will be a regular occurrence for Murphy or if he was just another challenger for the title that has now come and gone from NXT.
