We saw footage of Charlie Dempsey and Lexis King working out together, and Dempsey was impressed. He offered King a match for the Heritage Cup next week.

Ethan Page was out next, and he was very down. He talked about how he deserved to be booed, about coming to NXT, and about making history by becoming the champ in record time.

Page addressed his wife and talked about how he had gotten to live his dream, but now he was on a losing streak. It was 'eating him alive' that his family was disappointed, and it caused him to 'lose his smile.'

Je'Von Evans came out and said that since Page arrived at NXT, he was very cocky, but that wasn't him. Evans recalled how, after Heatwave, Page greeted his family as the champ, and everyone wanted to see the real Ethan Page.

Evans said everyone was proud of him, and Ethan looked like he was about to cheer up, but then he attacked Je'Von. Page knocked him to the mat, grabbed a steel chair, wrapped it around Evans' neck, and stomped on it. This caused the 20-year-old to bleed from his mouth as officials came out to help him.

Ethan stood in the ring and yelled, "This is the real me!" as the officials tried to get Evans to safety. We saw during the following moments that medical personnel had to be called to check on the Young OG.

Trick Williams was backstage and wished Evans a speedy recovery after the attack before Oba Femi came in to tell him that at New Year's Evil, Femi would walk out as the NXT Champ.

Stephanie Vaquer spoke to Cora Jade in a promo and said she would drag her to hell in their upcoming match.

WWE NXT Results: Trick Williams (c) vs. Eddy Thorpe - NXT Championship match

The match headed outside early, and Thorpe took some big chops to the chest against the barricades. Back in the ring, Eddy got a takedown before the champ caught the top rope to the crotch and fell in the ring.

Thorpe got a big vertical suplex for a near fall before Williams got the Rock Bottom for a near fall of his own. The two traded strikes in the middle of the ring before the official was taken down off a big DDT from Thorpe. A new official came out, and Trick hit the Trick Shot knee before getting the sudden win. Both referees counted the pin at the same time.

Result: Trick Williams def. Eddy Thorpe to retain the NXT Championship

However, after the decision, the two referees argued, and Ava came out to settle the matter. As Ava and the referees argued, the show went off the air.
