What's the story?
Ricochet made his NXT debut at the 2 February 2018 television tapings, defeating Fabian Aichner in a solid debut match that blew the roof off of Center Stage. His debut is due to air on the 7 March 2018 episode of NXT.
In case you didn't know
Trevor Mann is regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the world having plied his trade as Prince Puma for Lucha Underground and Ricochet for New Japan Pro-Wrestling as well as Ring of Honor. His WWE signing is considered to be a huge get for the company.
The heart of the matter
Even though the match won't air for a month or so, it looks like the man behind NXT, Triple H couldn't contain his excitement either as he posted a spoiler picture on Twitter of the newly signed acquisition at the tapings
Some important things to note from Ricochet's debut are that the fan reaction was reportedly incredible, which is sure to be a good sign for the independent wrestling darling's chances of seeing success on the show (which he absolutely should).
Secondly, it's worth noting that Trevor Mann was introduced as Ricochet, which means it's likely he'll get to keep the moniker on NXT, which is great news. And finally, Ricochet beat Aichner with his 630 Senton, which is reportedly the first time the move has ever been seen in NXT.
What's next?
Now that Ricochet has debuted, it's unclear what's next for the Superstar, as we won't even see this match until 7 March 2018. However, there's a chance, (a small chance) that Ricochet could enter the 205 Live Cruiserweight Title Tournament. Him in the finals at WrestleMania would certainly be an incredible spectacle.
Author's take
Just this morning I was wondering how long it would take for Ricochet to debut given he's already an immeasurable wrestling talent. Lo and behold! Here he is getting the loudest reaction over the two NXT tapings that took place this week. The future is definitely looking bright for Trevor Mann; let's see what he can accomplish!
