Dakota Kai has competed in several NXT Women’s Championship matches during her career, but she has failed to win the title each time.

However, her new attitude has helped her pick several big victories over the past few months. She holds the momentum going into TakeOver 36, whe she challenges her former friend Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s title.

Gonzalez came into NXT as Kai’s henchwoman, but quickly gained popularity and reached the top. A jealous Kai betrayed her former friend and laid down the challenge for the match.

WWE must allow The Captain of Team Kick to deliver the Kaio Kick and pin Gonzalez to win her first singles title in NXT. She has been an outstanding performer over the past year, but has only held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship for a short while.

A singles title run will prepare Kai for the main roster where she can prove to be more successful. A victory for Kai would also free up Gonzalez for a possible move to WWE SmackDown.
