Breezango returned last week on NXT and many fans believed that this could lead to an NXT Tag Team Championship match at Takeover: In Your House. However, the match wasn't added.
It was instead the women who filled the quota for a Tag Team match as part of the Takeover show when Dakota Kai teamed with Raquel Gonzalez and Candice LeRae in a losing effort to Tegan Nox, Mia Yim, and Shotzi Blackheart. This was the match that kicked off the show and surprisingly was the only tag team match on the card.

The NXT Tag Team Championship has been treated as one of the main titles on the brand for a number of years, which is why another interesting statistic comes out of last night's show.
The last time the NXT Tag Team Championships were not defended on a Takeover card was all the way back at NXT Takeover: Respect in 2015. That means that Imperium are the first champions in five years to not be given the opportunity to defend their titles on pay-per-view.
