NXT TakeOver: Finn Balor vs Damian Priest
Finn Balor ran in with a shotgun dropkick, taking the first shot before the bell even rang for their match at TakeOver: In Your House. Damian Priest responded with a running elbow in the corner but missed. Balor sent him to the floor, where he, unfortunately, was launched into the steel steps.
Priest pulled the steps out, using them to deliver an elevated backbreaker onto the apron. Back inside the ring, Priest pelted Balor with shots to the jaw. Balor fought out of the corner but was sent up for a leaping flatliner.
Clubbing blows rained down on Balor, but he fought back to his feet again with a jawbreaker. Priest tried to put a stop to his momentum again with a bell clap to the ears, but Balor responded with a dropkick. Balor managed to take the big man over with a nice vertical suplex, sending his opponent to the apron.
Balor followed up with a dropkick through the ropes, launching priest into the barricade. Back in the ring, Priest cut off another dive with a clothesline, but couldn't hit the Razor's Edge. He was able to catch the Prince, though, dropping him with the Broken Arrow.
Priest was taken to the mat with a surprise takedown, with Balor following up with a double stomp. Back to their feet, both men traded heavy kicks, with Balor getting the better of the Archer of Infamy.
Balor countered a chokeslam with a victory roll and nearly got the win. Priest quickly turned it around, rocking Balor with a kick and launching him spine first onto the apron with the Razor's Edge. Balor kicked out, miraculously.
In the corner, two leaping elbows nailed Balor in the jaw. A third was reversed with a Sling Blade. However, his shotgun dropkick was stopped with the Hurricane Kick. Balor escaped the Reckoning, spiking Priest with a spinning headlock elbow drop.
The shotgun dropkick connected. However, the Coup De Grace was stopped, and Priest took Balor down with a diving chokeslam. Balor, again, kicked out in the nick of time. Priest looked to end things with a Razor's Edge to the steps on the floor. Balor escaped, sending Priest careening onto the steps spine first.
Priest managed to get back inside in time for a Coup De Grace to his back. The second Coup De Grace landed right on Priest's ribs.
