Enter capt
The two seemingly concluded an epic trilogy of matches

Gargano did not wait for the match to start, attacking Ciampa while the announcements were still going on. He brawled like a madman, not going for any moves, making it look more like a street fight.

Ciampa threw Gargano against the stairs, and Gargano returned the favour, throwing him at the barriers. Gargano continued to throw him at barriers, and then exposed the concrete at ringside. Ciampa dug at the eyes of Gargano and then positioned him on the barrier for a DDT, but Johnny countered. He went to the apron and did a running senton into Ciampa, before sending him over the commentary table. Gargano climbed onto the broadcast table and dragged Ciampa up. Unfortunately for him, Ciampa picked him up and delivered a back to belly Piledriver through another table.

Ciampa kept Gargano down with kicks and introduced a chair, which Gargano stole. He hit Ciampa with a shot to the leg. He continued and delivered blows to Ciampa's midriff with the chair. Tommaso Ciampa locked in the sleeper hold sending him to sleep.

Gargano got up, only to be put in the hold again. Gargano got up and was able to send Ciampa into the chair he had set up in the turnbuckle headfirst. Gargano set up a table outside the ring, and then putting another table on it, keeping it upside down. Ciampa blocked the Suplex attempt and hit Gargano with a Triple German Suplex.

Ciampa hit Gargano with a chair repeatedly. Gargano would not stay down, so he hit him with three Project Ciampas, sitting down on the chair confident it was done. Gargano got up at nine and hit Ciampa with a Superkick.

Ciampa and Gargano exchanged numerous strikes, in the middle of the ring, with neither going down. Ciampa sent Gargano outside and countered his slingshot with a knee. He hit Gargano with a German Suplex, but instead of staying down, he got up again and hit Ciampa with a German Suplex. They both fell but got up at only a one-count.

The two continued to exchange strikes, to chants of 'Fight Forever' from the fans. Gargano missed the Cannonball to Ciampa on the outside. Ciampa sent him into the barrier and then hit the Fairytale Ending facefirst on the steps.

Ciampa cut and removed the protective covering from the ring, and exposed the wood. He came back to get Gargano, who used a Fire Extinguisher to blind him. Gargano took out the crutch and hit Ciampa on the midriff. He followed him to the outside and broke the crutch on his back. Ciampa almost sent Gargano into the two tables, but Gargano countered, and hit him with a DDT on the exposed wooden ring. Ciampa got on his feet by falling out of the ring.

Gargano followed him out with a Tope Suicida amd they went for each other. Ciampa dodged Gargano's Superkick which hit a production crew member. Ciampa hit Gargano with a running knee through a chair. He put the crew member and announcer's chairs and the barrier onto Gargano to stop him from getting up.

That did not stop Gargano, and he got up at a close nine, Ciampa took out a handcuff, and then tried to lock his hands. Gargano reversed it but got hit by an elbow from Ciampa.

Ciampa and Gargano both tried to send the other through the table but failed. Gargano hit Ciampa with a Superkick, mocking him with the goodbye Ciampa used usually, and sent him crashing through both the tables.

Ciampa used the broken crutch to get back up and the two went up the ramp. Gargano sent Ciampa into the display board near the entrance, finally handcuffing him to part of the stage. He smashed him against the stage again and again, then hitting him with Superkicks repeatedly. Gargano looked crazed, not listening to any of Ciampa's pleas.

Gargano exposed his knee and for the deadly strike to Ciampa, however, also sending him through the boxes, hurting his knee. Ciampa fell off the stage, getting to his feet at the count of nine, retaining his title yet again, while Gargano could not.

Result: Tommaso Ciampa defeated Johnny Gargano and retained his NXT Championship

Reports came in after the match that Gargano dislocated his knee, although he refused a stretcher, and tried to walk out with the support of the staff.
