NXT TakeOver: WarGames was set to kick off with the Women's WarGames match and Mia Yim was injured in an attack earlier in the night.
We learned that Dakota Kai would fill the void on Ripley's team and Angel Garza defeated Isiah Scott Swerve in the kickoff show.

Women's WarGames Match
The match kicked right off with Io Shirai and Candice LeRae in the ring. Shirai hit two 619s on LeRae followed by a running Meteora.
Bianca Belair came in next followed by Rhea Ripley who brought chairs. Kay Lee Ray came in and almost brought out a table but put it back. Dakota Kai was set to join the match but instead destroyed her own teammate, Tegan Nox.
William Regal came out to stop the carnage but Nox was done for. Kai was escorted out of the arena and Nox was injured so once Baszler came out, the match was a 4-on-2 bout.
Ripley and LeRae were struggling before the team captains hit top rope submissions on each other's teammates. Shirai hit a moonsault from the top of the cage as Ripley was attacking Baszler with a chair.
Ripley handcuffed herself to Shayna and hit the Riptide on a set of chairs for the pinfall.
Result: Team Ripley won the Women's WarGames Match

Damian Priest vs. Killian Dain vs. Pete Dunne
Dain and Dunne worked together at the start but the alliance was shortlived. Dain hit a Fallaway Slam/Samoan Drop combo with both opponents on the outside.
Dain and Priest then worked together for a moment but Priest turned on Dain within the minute. Dunne came back in for a series of kicks and all three men ran into each other and took each other out.

Priest hit Dunne with the Razor's Edge on the announce table and Dain cannonballed Priest through the barricades. Dunne was back in the ring and stomped Damian's face into the ring and then hit a moonsault to both opponents on the outside.
Dain took the Bitter End but Priest broke the pin. Priest hit the Frankensteiner on Dunne and then the Reckoning on Dunne. The pin was broken again before Dunne went for Priest's fingers and hit the Bitter End on him but Dain broke it up again with a senton.
Dunne locked in the Sleeper Hold and Dain hit the Senton on Priest with Dunne on his back. Dunne threw Dain away and pinned Priest for the win.
Result: Pete Dunne def. Damian Priest & Killian Dain and will face Adam Cole at Survivor Series

Finn Balor vs. Matt Riddle
The Original Bro and Balor went for a quick submission lockup and the veteran came out on top. The match took a slower pace for the first time in the night and Balor hit a dropkick before continuing with the submission holds.
Balor knocked Riddle's head into the apron after hitting him with a dive on the outside. Riddle hit an Exploder Suplex and a series of kicks. Riddle hit a spear and a jackhammer for a near fall.
Balor hit the 1916 and Riddle replied with a GTS. Balor hit another 1916 DDT for the win.

WarGames Main Event - Team Ciampa vs. Undisputed Era
Ciampa and Strong kicked us off and Ciampa took Strong head-on as they traded fists in the corner. Kyle O'Reilly and Dijakovic were in next .

Dijakovic dominated the fight as he came in before the clock ticked down and Bobby Fish rolled in. Keith Lee rushed the ring and took the fight to the Undisputed Era. Adam Cole came in finally but the match was still waiting for the fourth member of Team Ciampa to come in. Cole went straight for the tables under the ring as he joined the fight.
Adam Cole went through the table first, to everyone's surprise. Ciampa's team was a man short and Lee was hit with a low-blow before Kevin Owens turned out to be the fourth member of Team Ciampa!
Owens began his offense and took out half of the Undisputed Era in one move. He hit a stunner to Cole and almost got a pinfall.
Cole blocked a Cannonball and hit a Panama Sunrise on the steel between the rings. Cole and Ciampa were on the ropes in the corner and Cole went for the Sunset Bomb on Ciampa but Ciampa stopped him.
Kevin Owens hit the Frogplash on O'Reilly through the table. Keith Lee Powerbombed Fish through another table! Ciampa hit Cole with the Back-to-Belly Driver from the top of the cage through a table and got the win!
Result: Team Ciampa won the WarGames match

Not many matches on the card but it was a memorable show to say the least. Owens shocked us all with the appearance and Dakota Kai took revenge on her own teammate!
