#2 The Velveteen Dream regains the WWE NXT North American Championship
The Velveteen Dream’s return to WWE NXT a couple of weeks ago was seen as a big surprise as many fans believed that his run in NXT was over. However, not only did The Dream match a big return, but he also turned heel following his match.
Dream and Finn Balor competed in a second chance match last week, and even though Balor had the advantage in the match, a few distractions followed by an attack by Timothy Thatcher allowed His Purple Highness to pick up the victory.
Dream has an advantage going into this match as we’ve seen him compete in a few ladder matches before this one. He is the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion of all time and knows what it’s like to be the mid-card leader.
Dream has a chance of redeeming himself at NXT TakeOver XXX
At NXT TakeOver XXX, Dream’s new attitude and character could help him show no mercy towards his opponents and we could see him take out all other Superstars on his way to climb the ladder and take the NXT North American title.
We could see the action break down to the final two men in the ring, with Dream and Johnny Gargano chasing the title at the end. Dream could deliver a big Death Valley Driver from the top of the ladder to Gargano, before gathering enough strength to climb the ladder and take the title home.
Four out of the five men in this match are heels, and it’ll be every man for himself, something that will allow Dream to use his experience against his opponents and outsmart them to climb to the top of the ladder.
