What’s the story?
There have been massive changes in the betting odds for Payback this Sunday as Chris Jericho is now the surprise favourite in his US Championship rematch against Kevin Owens according to wweleaks.org. This could indicate that Jericho might regain his championship, despite his obligations outside wrestling that he intends to pursue following the PPV.
In case you didn’t know...
Chris Jericho lost his title at WrestleMania 33 after an exciting encounter with Kevin Owens and demanded his rematch soon after. The rematch was confirmed for this PPV when Kevin Owens or ‘The Face of America’, as he refers to himself now, gladly accepted Jericho’s demands.

Given the fact the Jericho is leaving the WWE to tour with his band and that Owens is now on SmackDown, many believed that KO would emerge victorious in this battle and continue his program with AJ Styles on the blue brand.
The heart of the matter
Although the massive influx of last-minute bets in Jericho’s favour is surprising, to say the least, the margin is rather slim as his odds stand at -1,200, as of the time of this writing. The other bouts on the card see Enzo Amore and Big Cass as favourites against Gallows and Anderson at -7,500.
Furthermore, the Raw Women’s Champion Bayley is favoured to retain her title against Alexa Bliss with her odds at -4,500, while Rollins is a strong favourite to nab his fight against Samoa Joe.
Wyatt and the Hardyz are favourites too in their respective bouts at -5,400. On the other Roman Reigns and Austin Aries are slight underdogs in their bouts against Stowman and Neville.

What’s next?
With the PPV almost upon us, the massive shift in odds shows us that we can expect a few surprise throughout what seems to be a rather predictable card.
Author’s take
Although betting odds aren’t always Gospel, it is possible that we could see Jericho retain his title and end yet another stint in the WWE on a high, if he actually intends to leave.
