Every week the WWE.com in association with the Academy of Wrestling Arts & Science publishes a rank list which ranks the WWE superstars on the basis of their performance over the week.
From Santas battling for Christmas to Big Show playing a big baby, the week surely made some of the fans wonder why they are watching WWE. On the bright side, there were some great tag team wrestling and dynamic performances which clamped us on to the seats.
It’s not a week that’s worth keeping in the archives but it had its fair share of action and drama which the company is actually known for. A lot of individuals ended the year on a high note while others ended it with the hope of hanging to their contract cum next year.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
So here is a look at all the movers and shakers in the WWE Power Rankings for December 28,2013.
25- Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank- 22)
Enjoy Ziggler in the rankings while you can because next week he might not be in it. The Show Off suffered a defeat at the hands of Randy Orton and was buried cruelly after the match. Despite having all the skills, Ziggler still remains badly pushed and hopefully next year would be better.
24-Xavier Woods (Previous Rank- 23)
Woods seemed to have a good run with his feud against Brodus Clay. However, the former NXT star was relegated to a Christmas carol competition on Raw. The ring time didn’t help either as Woods drops one spot.
23- Natalya (Previous Rank – nil)
Natalya gets back into the ranking with a pair of tag team wins. The Total divas star was kicked out of the title picture after TLC but still remains as one of the top divas in the division.
22- R-Truth (Previous Rank-21)
R-truth had the similar fate of Xavier Woods. The rapping superstar seemed fit for the Christmas Carol competition but keeping in mind that the whole thing was a mess, there isn’t much to be said about why he dropped.
21- Curtis Axel (Previous Rank- 20)
The third generation star drops one spot after picking up a loss to the Prime Time players at Smack Down. Axel is clearly hanging in the ranking because of the tag team division as his singles career isn’t likely to take off any time soon.
20- Fandango (Previous Rank-24)
Fandango capped off a good run by securing a shot at Big E Langston’s intercontinental championship. The superstar might not win the title, but his push looks a bit fresh and works well with the fans who were tired seeing him being randomly booked.
19- Los Matadors (Previous Rank- 17)
After being out of in ring action for some time, the fun trio came back with a bang when they got one over the red hot Real Americans. The lack of action in the previous weeks drags them back but the win keeps them in the top 20.
18- Rey Mysterio (Previous Rank-18)
The high flyer wasn’t seen inside the ring this week, but manages to hang on to his 18th spot. The nature of angle which he will be put on next week is bound to determine whether he will drop or rise in the rankings.
17- The Prime Time Players (Previous Rank- Nil)
Arguably the surprise package of the week, the Prime time players had a solid week which they capped off with a win over Rybaxel in SmackDown. Working with the crowd at Raw also contributed to their entry and is now considered as credible contenders in the tag team division.
16- The Real Americans (Previous Rank- 19)
The Real Americans started off their week with a loss to the returning Los Matadors. But the duo looked graceful even in defeat. Cesaro then went on to win an exciting match against one half of the tag team champions, Cody Rhodes.
15- Big Show (Previous Rank-14)
The creative team made a big joke out of the Giant this week when he was seen wearing a diaper promoting the old school themed Raw. Coupled with the absence of in ring action, Show sees himself slip one spot to 15th.
14- Damien Sandow (Previous Rank-10)
It’s clear that Sandow is being converted to another Dolph Ziggler. The self-proclaimed savior of the masses donned the Bad Santa outfit and was beaten by Mark Henry to save Christmas. He also suffered a loss to Daniel Bryan on SmackDown to end a bad week.
13- The Usos (Previous Rank – 13)
The Usos had a balanced week with a win and a loss. They still sit pretty on their 13th spot and most importantly they stay relevant in a crowded division.
12- AJ Lee (Previous Rank- 12)
AJ Lee took a tag team loss at WWE main event but keeps her 12th rank intact. AJ looks certain to beat the current record for the longest reigning Divas champion and remains unmatchable as a singles competitor.
11- Mark Henry (Previous Rank-15)
After saving the Christmas with a win over Damien Sandow, Henry had to take a drop for Roman Reigns. But the exposure to some main event scene along with Shield, Big E Langston and John Cena propels Henry to the edge of top ten.
10- Brie Bella (Previous Rank- 11)
Brie remains in the rank list as the top ranked divas by outclassing AJ Lee by two spots. She also achieves the feat of being the only diva in the top ten. Wins in Raw and Main Event certainly contributed to rise and Brie looks like heading for a shot at the Divas title.
9-Ryback (Previous Rank-9)
A jump to the Tag team division worked out great for Ryback and despite an unimpressive week he still hangs on to his 9th place while the superstars around him were shuffled vigorously.
8- Rhodes Brothers (Previous Rank- 7)
Cody Rhodes was on the receiving side of a match against Antonio Cesaro at SmackDown and this sees the Champions drop one spot to eight.
7- The Shield (Previous Rank- 6)
The trio takes a rare drop down the rankings after Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose took losses in SmackDown with Roman Reigns being the exception once again.
6- Wyatt Family (Previous Rank- 8)
The Wyatts got one over the Usos at SmackDown and their continuing promos which captivates the fans keeps them in the top ten. The rise of the Wyatts over the Shield clearly says that they been baptized as the top heels in the company.
5- Daniel Bryan (Previous Rank-3)
Bryan has an impressive win over Damien Sandow in SmackDown but was seen on the losing side at Raw. The loss to the Wyatt family drops the Superstar of the year two places to fifth spot in the rankings.
4- Big E Langston (Previous Rank- 5)
The WWE’s plan of pushing Langston is working perfectly as the Intercontinental champion was seen with the lights of CM Punk and John Cena in the main event picture. Nothing seems to be affecting the powerhouse at the moment and with Royal Rumble approaching his momentum is touching the skies.
3- CM Punk (Previous Rank-2)
Punk had an impressive week with a huge tag team win at Raw. The win keeps him in the top five spot but he drops one spot only because two other superstars had a better week than him.
2- John Cena (Previous Rank-4)
Cena had an epic match with Seth Rollins in SmackDown after getting a tag team win in Raw. Cena looks solid in his feud with the Shield and heads into the Royal Rumble with a lot of momentum just like Big E Langston.
1- Randy Orton (Previous Rank-1)
Orton got a much deserved off night at Raw then went on to destroy Dolph Ziggler at SmackDown. The Viper looked more than vicious during the destruction of Ziggler and hangs on to his top spot in the rankings.
