With another Saturday rolling in, as usual the WWE.com in association with the Academy of Wrestling Arts & Sciences (AWAS) has published the Power Rankings which ranks the WWE superstars on basis of their performance in the week.
A week that saw Daniel Bryan triumph and Zack Ryder wrestling on Raw, there were many points which touched the sky and there were many which fell to the ground.CM Punk’s absence still remains a haunting task for the creative while they try to put in credible storylines for the WrestleMania.
However, they managed pull off solid shows throughout the week which were packed with some exciting matches. So let’s take a look at this week’s Power Rankings and see how the superstars faired as we moved one step closer to WrestleMania.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
25- Kofi Kingston (Previous Rank- 24)
The exciting superstar took two tag loses against the Shield this week which costs him one place in the rankings. However, Kofi should be happy that he had the luxury of being involved in a top storyline throughout the week.
24- Titus O’Neil (Previous Rank- 25)
The heel turn of O’Neil seems to have worked well with the fans as he was gifted with some good air time on Raw. An impressive win over Ryder increases his credibility and the road ahead will be a good one at this rate for the former Prime Time Player.
23- Damien Sandow (Previous Rank- 23)
The self-proclaimed savior of the masses slips into the abyss further as he was seen nowhere this week. Lack of relevance has pushed Sandow this far and it won’t be late till he pops out of the rankings if the creative doesn’t aid him.
22- The Miz (Previous Rank- Nil)
The Awesome one has been injected some new resurgence recently and it was aided with a win over Fandango in the main event. Being involved with Bad News Barrett and criticizing Titus O’Neil opens new doors for Miz and he might well be on the rise in the WrestleMania season.
21- Rey Mysterio (Previous Rank- 20)
The Ultimate Underdog ended up on the losing side of a tag match against the Shield at Raw. The effects of his leg injury seems to be restricting Mysterio from being involved in a major storyline and he drops out of the top 20 because of that.
20- Christian (Previous Rank -22)
After securing a spot in the Elimination Chamber, Christian started off the new week with a win over Jack Swagger. Though he suffered a loss against Orton at SmackDown, Christian climbs two spots into 20th.
19- The Real Americans (Previous Rankings- 18)
The team was spared tag team action this week but the Real Americans were more than active in singles competition. Swagger took a loss at Raw against Christian while Cesaro fell against Daniel Bryan at SmackDown, the pair of losses drags them down one spot and Zeb Colter’s men end up in the edge of top 20.
18- Los Matadors (Previous Rank- 19)
The energetic tag team might be well away from getting a title shot, but they stayed relevant with a win over 3MB and Curt Hawkins. Teaming up with the Usos also benefited the Matadors and they climb one spot in the rankings.
17- Rybaxel (Previous Rank- 16)
Ryback and Curtis Axel had the job of falling prey to Sheamus this week and one has to admit that they did it gracefully. In ring action keeps them alive in the rankings but the losses results in a slight drop.
16- Brie Bella (Previous Rank- 15)
Brie was restricted to ring side for Nikki’s match against AJ Lee and being a cheerleader doesn’t benefit Daniel Bryan’s fiancé by any bit. Hopefully the coming weeks would be better as she needs it badly to stay in the rankings.
15- Rhodes Brothers (Previous Rank- 14)
Losing the tag titles is proving to be the first nail on the Rhodes Brothers’ coffin. They have been on a downward spiral after that and this week’s steel cage loss on Raw against the New Age Outlaws adds salt to the wound.
14- Sheamus (Previous Rank- 21)
On his path to win the WWE title, the Celtic Warrior dispatched both Ryback and Curtis Axel this week. The pair of win builds up his momentum well and propels him to the top 15.
13- Alberto Del Rio (Previous Rank-17)
The Mexican had a great confrontation with Batista on Raw which has made him more relevant than the previous week. Del Rio made his momentum much greater with a win over Zack Ryder and this helps him climb four spots to 13th.
12- Big Show (Previous Rank- 12)
There are no signs of the World Largest Athlete this week and with the WWE confirming that Mark Henry will return next week, the creative should try to engage the two in some kind of storyline to keep both of them engaged.
11- AJ Lee (Previous Rank- 13)
The longest reigning divas champion AJ Lee holds on to the tag of being the highest ranked diva with a win over Nikki Bella at SmackDown. Just a striking distance away from the top ten, a couple of wins would be enough for AJ to achieve that feat.
10- Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank-10)
After destroying the Rhodes Brothers last week, Lesnar was nowhere to be seen this time around. But the expectation of him being present terrorized the whole locker room and Lesnar continues to feed on that fear as he waits for the correct storyline.
9- The New Age Outlaws (Previous Rank- 11)
Despite being unimpressive in their win, the degenerates from Attitude Era retained the title after the steel cage bout. With a lot of teams breathing down their throat there will be an immense pressure on them to stay in the top ten.
8- Big E Langston (Previous Rank- 7)
Langston was the unlucky one to be pinned on Raw in the tag match, but the Intercontinental champion compensated for it with a win over Curtis Axel at Main Event. But the lack of proper momentum still keeps Langston away from the top five spot.
7- The Wyatt Family (Previous Rank- 8)
The creepy guys picked up two wins this week along with some intriguing promos against the Shield. The clash at Elimination Chamber is sure to produce fireworks as this week since the company is not willing to show either of the team inferior to other.
6- The Usos (Previous Rank- 6)
The Usos continued their great run with another win at Superstars. They also made their intentions clear that the tag titles will be their next target, if it happens the brothers are sure to be the ranked among the best in the business.
5- Batista (Previous Rank-5)
The Animal had a heated brawl with Alberto Del Rio at Raw and the two seems set to clash at the Elimination Chamber. With the title shot already in his pocket, the match would only be a momentum builder for the Rumble winner.
4- John Cena (Previous Rank- 3)
Another week off from the limelight, the rumors of Cena being injured seems to be right at the moment. However he is billed to face Randy Orton before the Chamber and that return could help Cena stay in the top five.
3- Randy Orton (Previous Rank- 1)
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion suffered a big loss against Daniel Bryan at Raw but got an impressive win over Christian at SmackDown. He clearly goes into the Chamber as an underdog if things go like this and that could see him drop further.
2- The Shield (Previous Rank-2)
The hounds of justice were more than impressive this week, picking up two tag team victories. The friction between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns was projected well and the inclusion of Wyatt Family into the mix makes them more deadly.
1-Daniel Bryan (Previous Rank- 4)
A great week for Bryan finally, the Flying goat was impressive both in the ring and with the microphone. Wins over Randy Orton and Antonio Cesaro helps Bryan three spots and cement his place in the first position which he clearly deserves.
