WWE Power Rankings: March 1, 2014

Undertaker

Undertaker

After a historic week at the WWE which saw the launch of the Network and return of the WWE, the weekly Power Rankings published by WWE.com and Academy of Wrestling Arts & Sciences (AWAS),saw its fair share of dips and rises.

Undertaker’s return was arguably the biggest talking point in a week which also saw Batista showing signs of a heel turn. The internal turmoil among the Shield also was at its epitome as the creepy guys took out John Cena.

Daniel Bryan dispatched Kane and opened up the door for a clash against Triple H. In the mid card, Christian and Sheamus seemed working on some kind of feud which capped a great match at Raw where both men showed immense chemistry.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

So let’s take a look at how all this shaped up this week’s Power Rankings and where each superstar ended up.

25 – Emma (Previous Rank-Nil)

Emma

Emma

Emma danced her way into the ring and kicked off her main roster career with a win. Though it wasn’t anywhere near her performances in the NXT, a win against Summer Rae is a good start. Surely a lot awaits Emma as she makes it to the Power Rankings as well.

24 – Mark Henry (Previous Rank- 23)

Mark Henry

Mark Henry

Henry had an awful week this time around as well as he found himself in the wrong end of a tag team match at SmackDown. Being the one who was pinned in the four men bout also lowers his credibility and Henry drops one place as a result.

23 – Darren Young (Previous Rank-22)

Darren Young

Darren Young

Young failed to get the job done against Titus O’Neil at Elimination Chamber but made up for his with a win at Main Event. There is no other credible feud left for Titus in the roster as well and the Elimination Chamber might be the last PPV time he’s going to get for a long time.

22 – Christian (Previous Rank-21)

Christian

Christian

Arguably one the star performers of last week, Christian dazzled in his new role at both Elimination Chamber and Raw. But Captain Charisma didn’t convert those great performances into wins and that eventually costs him one place in the rankings.

21 – The Miz (Previous Rank-20)

The Miz

The Miz

It wasn’t an active week for The Awesome one in terms of in ring action but his personal life had a lot buzz since he tied the knot with former WWE diva Maryse. He drops one place and out of the top 20 but would be trying to come back into relevance before WrestleMania.

20- Dolph Ziggler (Previous Rank- 19)

Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler got more than what he bargained for when he answered a challenge from Batista at SmackDown. The Animal’s heel persona stole the show completely as Ziggler was made to look nothing bigger than a squash opponent.

19- Rybaxel (Previous Rank- 18)

Rybaxel

Rybaxel

Ryback and Axel didn’t produce a winning combination at Elimination chamber and took losses in both Main event and Superstars as well. These results take Rybaxel one place down into 19th and seems nowhere near the title picture also.

18- Brie Bella (Previous Rank- 17)

Brie Bella

Brie Bella

Brie had no action whatsoever this week and this costs her one place in the rankings. However, expect Brie to be more significant soon as the latest season of Total Divas will be kicked off next month.

17- The Real Americans (Previous Rank-15)

The Real Americans

The Real Americans

The Real Americans have started showing signs of a spit which is making all the headlines. Though they picked up a win at SmackDown, it came in a controversial fashion. And the losses in Raw and Elimination Chamber drag the Real Americans down into 17th.

16- The Big Show (Previous Rank-13)

The Big Show

The Big Show

Show seems to be on his way out of the Power Rankings since he constantly fails to find a place in the match cards. With WrestleMania fast approaching, the company needs to put some work on his push if they are planning to make him part of the PPV.

15- Rhodes Brothers (Previous Rank-16)

Rhodes Brothers

Rhodes Brothers

The Rhodes brothers finally seems to be back in winning ways after picking up three consecutive wins at Elimination Chamber, Main Event and Superstars respectively against Rybaxel. Those wins kick them back into the top 15 as they look to challenge Usos for that no.1 contender spot.

14- AJ Lee (Previous Rank- 14)

AJ Lee

AJ Lee

Longest reigning Divas champion in the history of the WWE, AJ dispatched her latest challenge with ease when she defeated Cameron. Some friction between Tamina and AJ was a talking point however as the WWE looks to cash in on that possibility.

13- Alberto Del Rio (Previous Rank-9)

Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio fell to Batista as predicted on Elimination Chamber but the Mexican notched up a surprise win on Raw thanks to the distraction from Randy Orton. At SmackDown, he acted as the villain against Sheamus but the long term credibility of Del Rio still remains uncertain since there is no storyline backing him.

12- Sheamus (Previous Rank- 11)

Sheamus

Sheamus

Unfortunately the Celtic Warrior was the first one to be eliminated at the Elimination Chamber. He made up for that with a win over Christian at Raw and fell victim to Captain Charisma and Alberto Del Rio on SmackDown. He heads on a collision course with Christian as their rivalry grows with each week.

11- The New Age Outlaws (Previous Rank- 12)

The New Age Outlaws

The New Age Outlaws

Degenerates from the Attitude era rose up to the situation and showed why they are considered as a great tag team when they defeated the Usos at Elimination Chamber. However a pair of losses followed which dropped their momentum a bit but the Outlaws climb one spot to 11th.

10- Brock Lesnar (Previous Rank- 10)

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar

After being absent for almost a month, Lesnar finally came into the ring only to be knocked out by Undertaker. a match between Taker and Lesnar is officially set now and hopefully that will make Lesnar come out more.

9- The Undertaker (Previous Rank- Nil)

Worth his career ?

The Undertaker

The newest and the most exciting entry to the Power Rankings this week, Undertaker made a big impact on Raw with his return. Though the chances of him wrestling before WrestleMania are slim, the prospect of Taker unraveling his mind games would be enough to keep him in the rankings.

8- Big E Langston (Previous Rank- 8)

Big-E-Langston

Big-E-Langston

Though Big E retained the title against Jack Swagger at Elimination Chamber, he took a fall to Cesaro on Raw. To add wound to the salt, Big E also lost in tag team action against the Real Americans on SmackDown as well which puts him in a precarious position in the Rankings.

7- The Usos (Previous Rank-6)

The Usos

The Usos

Though they lost out at when the time came, The Usos got the upper hand over the tag champions in both Raw and SmackDown. A quick win at Raw was followed by a six man tag team win at SmackDown and this takes them back in track to make another shot at the title.

6- John Cena (Previous Rank- 1)

John Cena

John Cena

The Cenation leader was brave enough to call out the Wyatt Family this week and unfortunately it clearly was something that he didn’t want to do. Three on one advantage that the Wyatts had soon took over Cena and he ended up being injured in the process. However Cena wouldn’t be lying in the bed soon as he would soon seek revenge.

5- The Shield (Previous Rank-2)

The Shield

The Shield

Shield failed to overcome the Wyatt family this week on two occasions. They also started to expose the crack further which casts doubt over their future. However the hounds of justice will be presented with a chance to seek revenge soon as they will go against the Wyatts on Raw.

4- Batista (Previous Rank- 5)

Batista

Batista

A balanced week for the animal, as he had a tainted lose at Raw followed by a win at SmackDown. Shades of a heel turn was the highlight of the week however as it is turning out to be the last attempt of the creative to breathe in some life into Orton- Batista feud. The win at Chamber helps Batista climb one position as he ends up at 4th this week.

3-Daniel Bryan (Previous Rank-3)

Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan

Another week full on wins for the flying goat as he got wins in both Raw and SmackDown. The win at Raw came against Kane while the one at SmackDown presented itself in a tag team match. however the highlight of the week came when Bryan called out Triple H which could set up a potential thriller between the two.

2- Wyatt Family (Previous Rank-4)

Wyatt Family

Wyatt Family

Wyatt Family had a great week as usual which started with a win over the Shield at Elimination Chamber. They then took out John Cena at Raw, which paved the wave for a future clash. A disqualification win for Bray Wyatt against Roman Reigns gives a great push for the Wyatt Family.

1- Randy Orton (Previous Rank- 7)

Randy Orton

Randy Orton

The Viper overcame five men and went home with the title at Elimination Chamber. With a match against Batista set at WrestleMania, Orton was seen taunting the Animal throughout the week also. Though no one believes that Orton should be holding the title, he still proved to be an ultimate opportunist and the big win gives him a boost in the rankings.
