WWE Tag Team Turmoil Match – Winners get a championship match later in the night: Two members of 3MB (likely Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal) vs the Usos (Jey and Jimmy) vs the Prime-Time Players (Titus O’Neil and Darren Young) vs Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Sweet T) vs the Real Americans (Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger) (pre-show):
The winner of this match will face the tag champs later on in the PPV. Really, it doesn’t matter who wins, as I don’t see Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins losing the belts.
However, if a team puts in a good showing here, it could mean bigger things down the road. Considering the Usos have been the hot team in WWE lately, I’m going with them. I expect them to be champs at some point. It could be at NoC, but it’s a long shot.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
WWE United States Championship - Dean Ambrose (Champion) vs Dolph Ziggler:
This match could potentially steal the show, as these are two of the best all-round performers in WWE right now and both are known for trying to get the match of the night every time they compete.
While I think Ambrose will retain the title here, I would not be surprised if Ziggler pulled it off and won the US title once more. Ziggler has the best chance among anyone to knock Ambrose off thus far, and there could be a new champion come Monday night on RAW.
It’s a tough call, given the current storyline. I’m going with the safe bet on Ambrose, but wouldn’t be surprised to be wrong.
4-Way Match for the WWE Divas Championship - AJ Lee (Champion) vs Brie Bella vs Naomi vs Natalya:
Rumour has it AJ will be dropping the belt here in order to help promote Total Divas, which really would be disappointing. However, if it happens, the belt should go to Natalya.
She is the best in-ring worker in the Divas division and absolutely deserves another run with the championship. Unfortunately, I know those in WWE don’t agree with me, and I think Brie Bella will continue to make me hate the Bella Twins and become the champion once more.
WWE Tag Team Championship - Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins vs ???:
As I said before, the contenders for the tag belts will be determined earlier in the night. I’m picking the Usos in that match, but in the actual title match, I’m thinking the champs will retain the title.
There’s a good chance all three members of the Shield will remain champions through the end of the year, in my opinion.
2-on-1 Handicap Elimination Match - Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman vs CM Punk (non-title):
As I said in another column, this match really could go either way. Fans want Heyman to get destroyed by Punk, however, which is exactly why I think Axel and Heyman win this match.
I’m going to guess, Axel gets eliminated first (possibly via DQ), then comes out later to help Heyman defeat Punk when the referee is down.
The Punk/Heyman feud, in my opinion, will continue for a bit longer, with Brock Lesnar possibly being re-entered into it sometime before WrestleMania, and if Punk wins, the feud will pretty much be over.
World Championship - Alberto Del Rio (Champion) vs Rob Van Dam:
I’m not a big fan of RVD, but I wouldn’t mind him getting one more championship run in WWE, especially since his last one was cut so short (granted, it was his fault), and I would especially love to see ADR not be champion anymore, as I consider him one of the most worthless wrestlers on the roster.
RVD could easily win here, but I’m not sure that will happen. Despite what the storyline would say, I can easily see RVD’s new manager, Ricardo Rodriguez, turning his back on RVD and joining up with ADR once again.
This would have a 2-fold effect as well, as Ricardo could cost RVD the match, thus giving RVD a legitimate excuse for wanting a rematch down the road.
WWE Championship - Randy Orton (Champion) vs Daniel Bryan:
I would love nothing more than to see Bryan as the champion, as I think he is the most deserving wrestler on the entire roster right now. However, the current plan is for Bryan to chase Orton through the month of January, probably until the Royal Rumble.
Because of that, I don’t think Bryan is winning the belt. Not tomorrow night, anyway.
Bryan is very effective as the hunter, and if he hunts the belt a couple more months, it’s going to mean that much more when he finally wins it. Orton will retain, but this won’t be the last of this feud, and Bryan will be champion again.
