For a three hour Raw which is usually criticised for being a dragged out affair, it was a fairly decent show.It had many moments that stood out and did well.Storylines moved forward and so much of it had depth. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that this was the closest three hour Raw which incorporated many storylines quite well. Some legends returned, a reunion ensued and many a young and present talents got to shineHere are the five promising developments from this week’s Raw-
#5 Sting is no ordinary man
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Triple H made his way to the ring for another promo on Sting. And as expected Sting wasn’t present and that isn’t a problem at all. What they’ve done in his absence is make the casual fan aware of his history in the wrestling industry and why he’s such a big deal. And to make that part even clear, out came Sting’s best rival- Ric Flair. And the two-time Hall of Famer explained his mate Triple H why he should take Sting with utmost seriousness and like the great heel Triple H is, he shoved Flair to the ground.
#4 Miz will always be a great heel
There is no doubt about it. Miz is quite possibly a veteran in the heel department. It’s just so easy for him to make people want to throw him out of the building. He continued his trend of demeaning his assistant Damien Mizdow by incorporating this little prop called a bell. During Mizdow’s match against Bad News Barrett, Miz kept using the bell to summon Mizdow and do tasks for him like cleaning his shoe or his sunglasses.
What a way to get some heat.
#3 Hard Times
Finally, the WWE went ahead with the idea of having a Rhodes Brothers feud. The story isn’t in this collision but the depth of the storyline. Both of them are two of the most fictional characters in the WWE. They’re truly bizzarre. And as is the job of The Reality Era, non fictional details come to the fore. Goldust warned his brother that he’s gone too deep in his Stardust persona. Goldust has gone through that before and it isn’t a great journey. But Stardust wasn’t having any of it. He thinks Cody Rhodes is dead and so is his father, Dusty Rhodes.
It’s a good reason for this feud and the characters.
#2 Ambrose\'s chase
Dean Ambrose finally got a good match and a good win since the Bray Wyatt feud. And add to that a new feud. While he’s no longer in the main event as he was last year, he’s aiming for the Intercontinental title and he has a good opponent in Bad News Barrett.
Ambrose match against Luke Harper was fantastic on many levels. It showcased how gutsy Ambrose is and that he’ll never stay down. It also made him look more credible to vie for the IC title as he beat another former IC champion.
Also, he got Barrett to sign the contract. The match is on.
#1 The big face-off
They’ve built up to it for weeks and when it happened, it was glorious. Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns had quite a fight and the audience in the arena was all game for it and wanted to see that fight continue when the referees interfered and calmed things down. Fast lane ought to set few things straight- whether Bryan will be in the main event at Wrestlemania, is Reogns ready and if the audience is ready for Reigns.
