Raw was one more episode down for Wrestlemania. And they’ve pulled off some storylines quite well. Though Undertaker and Lesnar were missing, and Paul Heyman tried his best to elevate the feud, it was two other feuds which were more interesting. Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Bray Wyatt were the stars of the show.
Here are five promising developments heading to Wrestlemania:
5. All that Internet jazz
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
“If you would have lived up to all your hype, we wouldn’t even be in this situation right now.”- Orton to Batista
Triple H was really entertaining here.
WWE may shove away online banter by fans but they’re using all that to build some intrigue into their main event.
When these three came together in the ring, it hardly seemed like an Evolution reunion. They were all antagonizing each other. So much so that Triple H made one more stipulation. If he wins against Bryan at Wrestlemania, he will be included in the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, making Bryan’s win come to seem as less predictable.
But the bigger point to come out of this segment was that the WWE is listening to its fans rants online and in the arena. And they will keep including these references to build up to Wrestlemania, even if they don’t give us the desired results at the PPV.
This segment just proved that fans’ disapproval does have a voice.
4. The Real Americans for Tag titles
And so it seems another split has been evaded for the time being. The Real Americans seem to be on the same page as they look like the top contenders for the tag team titles, come Wrestlemania.
Nobody stands out in their matches in the WWE right now as much as Cesaro does, not even Daniel Bryan. His star is getting too bright but evading this split for now seems to be good because The Real Americans are a great team. They work well together and they look like quite an imposing team.
They might as well become champions once before they eventually part ways.
3. KNOCK KNOCK! Who’s There?……. WE’RE HERE
Soon, it seems, Raw or Smackdown will be known as the Bray Wyatt Show. If Bray Wyatt has his own talk show that’ll be never-before-seen television phenomenon. This guy can read a grocery list and make it sound so creepy that you’ll never look at the grocery list the same way again. I mean, Cena who’s Mr. Never Give Up said that he’s afraid of Wyatt and afraid that people are actually listening to him.
The segment was just like their previous segments- Intriguing.
It’s turning out to be one great addition to Wrestlemania.
2. The Shield is nowhere near THE END
Wow! Seth Rollins really set things right, it seems. Good for him and his character. The Shield attacked an Authority Figure in Kane and apparently pulled off a move that speaks more about them separating from the Authority. They look like they’ve had a face turn.
Now, that’s something to look forward to.
1. Triple H and Stephanie Versus Daniel Bryan
Heels are always much more complex and interesting characters than babyfaces. So here’s why a heel is important or rather more important than the babyface in a feud. A good heel makes the audience want the babyface to come out triumphant, even more than ever before.
Faces can get boring after a while. Daniel Bryan is a great wrestler but his promo work can’t be compared to the greats.
Triple H in the past two weeks on Raw and Smackdown has really come back to his classic heel elements. And so has Stephanie McMahon.
Stephanie McMahon has been outstanding. Brilliant.
