One Raw down, one more to go. The Road to Wrestlemania is soon going to end with Wrestlemania itself on April 6th and the build up to the event is picking up pace. This week’s Monday Night Raw was held in Brooklyn, another capacity crowd, and another show full of hostility directed towards the authority, especially Stephanie McMahon.
Daniel Bryan’s absence was compensated for by many promising developments, which included a surprise performance from Luke Harper, and of course, Stephanie McMahon letting Batista know what she thinks of him. Here they are:
1.Stephanie McMahon is best for business
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Her slaps never get old. Neither does her formidability when it comes to hostile reactions. As with any incredible heel she was booed profusely in the opening segment of Raw but still looked strong sticking to her character. And her slapping Batista was just the icing on the cake.
Stephanie is a solid A+ as a heel and nobody can touch her in that department right now. Daniel Bryan did not make it to Raw and the buildup to Triple H and Bryan’s final showdown is consistently getting exciting.
Triple H was wonderful on the mic as well but as I said, nobody can touch Stephanie at being a heel right now.
2. Dolph Ziggler’s slow rise
His recent promos and victories are in stark contrast to where he was at the end of his World Championship reign. Even though he’s not faced anyone new in the last year, his screen time has slowly gone up. Only this time, he is doing it all on his own, and hasn’t needed a chaperone. He did not win on Raw this week but was involved in a match full of fast paced action in the same city where he won a match against John Cena at TLC more than a year ago.
3. The Wyatt Family’s got game!
Bray Wyatt and his family have so far led the build up to the match against John Cena. Their promos have left a lasting impression every single time and made the road to Wrestlmania a pleasure for the viewers.
The magical or nightmarish appearance of a goat mask sneaking behind Cena and the eventual attack on Cena in the ring was enough for this week to get people invested in this feud.
AND, Harper’s quite awesome in the ring. He’s got some moves!
4. The Final Surge before The Shield’s demise.
With rumours that The Shield are on the verge of a split making the rounds , the WWE plans to con everyone with their recent resurgence and run of dominance. And as predicted, they will face the New Age Outlaws and Kane at Wrestlemania. The recent momentum and positive energy within the Shield might just be their parting shot, as indications are clear that they maybe in their final moments as a team.
This so-called resurgence that they are experiencing, will most probably not last long!
5. Hey Yo, Class of 2014! Say Hello to the Bad Guy
Going by the monikers Scott Hall or Razor Ramon, he has finally been inducted in the Hall of Fame and this announcement couldn’t have come at a better time. While Mickey Rourke played Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in The Wrestler, Scott Hall looked very much like the non fictional version of the character post his wrestling career. A documentary on him featuring him, was made by ESPN almost 3 years ago.
From a time when his friends were waiting for him to die, he has made quite a comeback thanks to his work with DDP.
Now all we’ve got to do is wait for him to grace us with his presence, grab the mic and go, “Hey Yo!”
