WWE RAW 26th October 2015 - 3 Things that worked

The Authority set up the show pretty well.

The rivalry - It beginsOn a show that did not have the nostalgia factor like last week, for a show that did not have The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Randy Orton; this Raw was great by most measures. This was a show that planted seeds for the ‘Road to Survivor Series’ and eventually ‘The Road to Wrestlemania’. They had all the time and energy invested onto the present potential of the company and that included Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. That also included Cesaro being treated like a star even in a losing effort and a simple yet significant method to set up the entire show in terms of a tournament. Here are the 3 things that worked-

#3 The entire tournament

The Authority set up the show pretty well.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

The Authority came out to open Raw and just when we thought it’s just another night for a long winded promo, we were thankfully proven wrong.

They actually set up the show pretty well. A tournament was held to determine Rollins’ next opponent and we all knew it was going to be Roman Reigns.

The thing is, not only did they make Reigns look really strong, they made him look worthy of being the next opponent to Rollins. The history between them is stronger than ever with them being part of The Shield and the events that unravelled at WM 31.

All the matches that led to the conclusion were really good and logic prevailed at the end of the day.

#2 That Stone Cold appearance

Stone Cold was promoting WWE 2K16 this week on Raw.

Surely, one would not want a texas rattlesnake appearance to be wasted in a short backstage segment, but since he’s the face of the 2K16 video game and has been hugely publicized with the ‘Book of Austin’ videos on Youtube, all this is apt and it was terrifically entertaining to watch him give Miz the ‘What’ treatment.

He hasn’t done that to anyone in a long, long time. It’s also great considering Miz used a mildly similar ‘Really’ catchphrase for some part of his career. Also, the audience was thoroughly into this segment, which added to the impact.

#1 The six-man tag Match

The team that won this week

So, all the winners from the Hell In A Cell PPV got a chance to potentially become the number one contender for the WWE World heavyweight Championship.

That’s fair and what did Creative do with the losers? They put all of them in a mammoth tag match. This is repetitive, but it made all the more sense. The losers got this and made the most of it. It was an entertaining match and we got to move on to great matches from all the winners.

The Six man tag match are oft repeated but on this night it was quite aptly executed.
