WWE RAW: 3 potential reasons why Paul Heyman announced Brock's Extreme Rules MITB cash-in

Not a prediction, a spoiler!
Not a prediction, a spoiler!

Tonight on the RAW before Extreme Rules, Paul Heyman made a huge announcement as he declared that his client and Mr. Money in the Bank 2019, Brock Lesnar, will cash-in his contract this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

In typical "this is not a prediction, this is a spoiler" style, Heyman gave a warning to the Universal Champion, Seth Rollins, and the WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston to be on their toes as the Beast might be lurking for either or both of them.

In this article, let's take a look at the three reasons why this announcement was made by the advocate on RAW tonight. Who do you think would Brock cash-in on?

#3 Messing with the fans

The Executive Director of Monday Night RAW!

Paul Heyman is a promo-genius and a veteran of the business. He easily makes it to the top-10 list of best mic workers in WWE history. As much as he might be a heel on-screen, fans and critics all love him for amazingly portraying the character of the advocate.

During the segment on RAW tonight, after what he claimed to be a spoiler of Brock cashing-in his contract at Extreme Rules, Heyman mentioned how he could either be giving away a huge moment or how he could just be playing mind games with Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston.

But the Universal and WWE Champions are not the only one that the advocate of the Beast Incarnate is messing with. He is also messing with you, me, and all the fans out there.

With Seth busy with his mixed-tag-team date with Becky Lynch this Sunday, and Kofi is heating up his feud with Samoa Joe, not many were thinking about the Beast in the Bank, but after tonight's announcement, one can't help but keep looking for Lesnar's appearance at Extreme Rules.

#2 Continuing the tease without Brock being on TV

When will Lesnar cash-in the contract?
When will Lesnar cash-in the contract?

The biggest reason why most of the fans were not happy with Brock Lesnar becoming Mr. Money in the Bank 2019 was due to his part-time status. This was the case with his Universal Title reigns, during which he hardly showed-up on TV, and was constantly missing for months with the championship around his waist.

The fear of Lesnar keeping the MITB contract hostage was real, but WWE so far has done a decent job with it. After two disappointing MITB briefcase reigns in Baron Corbin and Braun Strowman (the B's are winning it for the last three years!), Lesnar's run with his BoomBox has been considerably enjoyable.

We also got to see the funny side of Brock, but the most important one was the constant cash-in tease following the PPV on RAW, SmackDown, and PPVs as well. With Brock not being on TV these days, it's nice to see WWE continuing the storyline with Heyman.

#1 Promote the Extreme Rules PPV

The card looks decent so far!
The card looks decent so far!

There's no hiding the fact that last month's Stomping Grounds PPV saw one of the poorest PPV ticket-sales as tickets were sold for as low as $20 with a two-for-one offer as well. Sadly, the Extreme Rules PPV is also not doing great when it comes to ticket sales as WWE was again offering two tickets for the price of one.

Paul Heyman's announcement on RAW tonight could be a simple way of boosting the tickets as Lesnar's cash-in would surely be a huge moment that could attract fans to the arena. We have already witnessed The Undertaker return for a match at Extreme Rules alongside Roman Reigns, in what looks like another desperation move, and announcing Lesnar's cash-in could be a part of the same as well.

It is indeed sad to see WWE struggling with attracting fans to the arena, but they are to blame for this, due to the poor state of the product lately. Hopefully, it changes soon with the Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff era.
