One of the biggest difference between the WWE of now and the Attitude Era is creative freedom. I am of the opinion that in terms of pure in-ring talent, WWE is enjoying its best time ever.
However, the current roster doesn’t get much – if at all – creative freedom. In fact, messing up one word can make a Superstar receive an earful from Vince McMahon, as Mick Foley testified when he revealed how the Chairman chewed out Braun Strowman.
But Bray Wyatt gets creative freedom. How do I know that? Well, he himself said so.
"I don't have a script, I don't sit down and nobody brings me a paper and says 'It'd be really cool if you say this.' I speak from my mind and my heart and it's a lot easier to speak on something that I truly care about. I go on tangents obviously a lot, I'll have an idea when I go out there, and if I get lost I'll find my way and snake my way on back through the grape vine.
"It's so much easier when I'm in control of everything I'm saying. I feel it,” he concluded.
So when someone as talented as Wyatt gets creative freedom to cut promos by himself, not much could go wrong – which is why his child entertainer character is going to be a hit.
