WWE fans had been waiting for Murphy's babyface turn to happen ever since he got involved in a storyline with Rey Mysterio's daughter, Aalyah.

Murphy had enough when Seth Rollins bullied him to a breaking point on this week's WWE RAW. Rollins frequently manipulated Murphy by reminding him of their Messiah/Disciple relationship.

Murphy broke out of that equation and attacked The Monday Night Messiah instead of apologizing to him. Seth Rollins' former disciple even grabbed a kendo stick to gain an advantage during their brawl, but Rollins managed to manipulate Murphy by earning some sympathy.

The way Rollins successfully manipulated Murphy even after their breakup was a great example of storytelling. It gave Rollins an opening to attack his disciple again, and this segment as a whole encapsulated how The Monday Night Messiah had developed a mental hold over his disciple in the last few months.

Aalyah came out to beg Rollins to stop attacking Murphy. Rollins stepped away, but he was successful in widening the chasm of conflict within the members of The Mysterio Family.

Dominik came out to pull Aalyah away from Murphy. It became clear that the Mysterio family still didn't want Aalyah to get involved with Murphy, even though the latter turned babyface during this week's WWE RAW.
