During the course of the evening, the reigning Champion Robert Roode stopped in front of Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley. Neither of the two men seemed to care about what should essentially be an undercard title. I suppose that it's a way to showcase the more underutilized talents in the locker room.
We saw names that we don't usually see on the show otherwise. The fact of the matter is that WWE is bloated to the brim with talent and does not have enough TV time to showcase all of them. So talents like Titus O'Neil, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows have to sit on the sidelines while others get opportunities.
It may a way to keep the undercard happy considering how many men are quitting the company for greener pastures. With this title, it keeps them on TV at the very least.
