Why has WWE booked Natalya to be in this position?

We've seen Alexa Bliss in the main event picture far too many times. Ruby Riott is on the shelf recovering from an injury right now. Carmella and Naomi are both great, but they just don't seem like main event players to me, honestly.

Natalya may not seem like the strongest choice to face off against Becky Lynch at a stage like SummerSlam, but she is just as strong as everyone else in the roster right now. Maybe it's not the fault of the women themselves but the way that they've been booked.

I'm not sure that any other woman from the roster, with the exception of maybe Sasha Banks, would have been a worthy contender for the kind of firepower that Becky Lynch has, at this very moment. But if Banks does return, I'd prefer it if she faces off against Bayley instead.
