In a storyline that pits Daniel Bryan against someone like The Fiend, it is quite clear who the babyface is and who the heel is. The same could be said for a feud like Randy Orton vs. Edge.
But because of the shocking nature of the Liv Morgan vs. Lana storyline, with Rusev and Bobby Lashley involved in the mix, let's just say that Liv Morgan did not exactly earn brownie points with the crowd to get her over as a babyface. To build audience sympathy for a character like hers, to have her become a beloved character like say, Becky Lynch, she needed to be betrayed by her friend.

Liv Morgan has a great look and whether you like the storyline that she returned in or not, one has to admit that it made her a household name almost at once. And now, she needs a good opponent to work against to rise the ranks on RAW.
And who better than her former best friend in kayfabe and also, her best friend in real life?
