With the Biggest Party of the Summer fast approaching, WWE continued to deliver some interesting segments full of shocks and surprises in order to ensure that our interest in the second biggest event of the year remains high.

To ensure that fans get the most out of this episode, WWE brought in legends such as Kurt Angle, Trish Stratus, Kurt Angle, and Goldberg to make it a starstudded event.

Apart from that, they booked the entire card to near perfection this week, showing that Paul Heyman is trying to get things right back on track and delivering a few punches while doing so.

Keeping all that in mind, we have made a list of 5 interesting and shocking moments from this week’s episode and how they could impact the future of the show and the superstars.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

#5 The Viking Raiders’ booking

This is slowly getting very frustrating now. For weeks, WWE has booked The Viking Raiders against local competition. This has solely been done to show the duo’s power and dominance, but what good is it if it isn’t done in the right way?

Yes, we get it that they are the most dominant tag team in WWE today, but when will WWE give them some real competition and build them into the biggest threat in WWE, even if they don’t give them a championship early on?

With teams such as The Usos, The Revival, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, AOP, and many others waiting in line to get frequent television time, Erik and Ivar need some team to push them to show how good they can be.

WWE has been booking tag teams very ordinarily on Raw recently and they need to build on the momentum some have from NXT to ensure they don’t get washed away too.

#4 New Tag Team Champions

We’d been waiting for this for a while, but WWE decided to give it to us in the most surprising way at the most shocking time.

On Raw this week, WWE booked a fatal 4-way elimination match between The IIconics, the Kabuki Warriors, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross. While most fans would have expected such a match to take place at SummerSlam, WWE shocked everyone by booking it earlier instead.

What made matters even more surprising was that the favorites Kabuki Warriors did not win the titles, and Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss stole the show and took home the gold.

While many fans would argue that the Kabuki Warriors should have won the championship, it seems like WWE made the correct choice as Bliss and Cross are more established at the moment and have a good team going, which could help increase the title’s value.

#3 The Queen, The Queen of Hearts, The Queen of Queens & The Man

First things first, WWE is finding it difficult establishing who the heels and who the faces are in the women’s division at the moment, with Becky Lynch somewhere right in between.

Secondly, why would they team up Becky and Charlotte for a match together when Becky and Trish Stratus on one side and Charlotte and Natalya on the other makes much more sense?

This was a shocking piece of booking as it was obvious that WWE wanted to go down the good old path of betrayal and beatdowns.

Trish never got a chance to get any of the action, which made the booking seem like an even bigger waste, and only Natalya came out looking strong from the entire segment. It’s obvious that WWE will most probably be booking a segment between Trish and Charlotte on SmackDown this week, and therefore there was no real need for these two women to be a part of such questionable booking.

#2 Another surprise attack

Last week on SmackDown, Roman Reigns was at the center of what seemed like a deliberate surprise attack which left many fans shocked. While WWE could have done a better job at selling the attack, they made things worse on social media by terming it a ‘forklift accident’ and slowly building on it in the days to come.

This week on Raw, they tried to make things real again by inserting Samoa Joe in the picture, who was seen as the prime suspect by the fans. However, another surprise attack on Roman Reigns in the presence of Joe has now wiped his slate clean.

It’s shocking to see that WWE is going back to the pre-PG era as soon as Heyman has returned and booking some segments like they used to do in the late 90s and early 2000s.

With Joe’s name cleared up, things are now much more interesting and we could find out who wants to end Reigns for good in this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

#1 Goldberg’s return

It was expected, but we wouldn’t have been sure unless we saw what happened in the closing moments of Raw this week. Miz TV was scheduled for the end of Raw this week, which gave us a hint of what’s to come, and WWE did not disappoint us.

In a great segment which involved The Miz, Shawn Michaels, and Dolph Ziggler, WWE first hinted that Ziggler’s SummerSlam opponent will be the Heartbreak Kid rather than the A-Lister.

However, the tides soon changed as Goldberg made a shocking return and made it very clear that he would be the man to break Ziggler in half at SummerSlam. This will be a great opportunity for Goldberg to redeem himself, as The Undertaker already did so at Extreme Rules earlier on.

Ziggler has been known to be a man who gives his opponents great matches and sells moves very well, and he could prove to be Goldberg’s best possible opponent from the current roster.
