#4 The Demon King challenges Lashley for the Intercontinental Championship

Last week on RAW, we saw Finn Balor defend his Intercontinental Championship against Bobby Lashley, in a contest that he essentially lost. I know a lot of our readers were aghast at this move and are possibly missing the bigger picture. Balor lost the Championship because a bigger plan may be in store for him at WrestleMania 35.
We have not seen The Demon King in action since last year, at the culmination of Balor's feud with Baron Corbin. If The Demon only comes out at special occasions, is there a better stage than WrestleMania to book a battle between Balor and Lashley? Finn Balor could reclaim the Intercontinental Championship and carry the title far beyond WrestleMania.
This is the only explanation that makes sense with regard to why Balor lost his title. Actually, wait, there could potentially be yet another reason...
